I don't think she's talking about text books!Depends, how long do you expect the books to last? For me, i was generally going through a book a term/semester for each subject, before any real damage could happen to the book
because of spinal issues..

is it possible to get a library to pro-contact books for you
It is preferable as it does provide quite a bit of protection but it does have a few cons:that is the question

You guys are so right. I've been even NOT READING my books because I don't want to destroy them.Besides, the entire charm of a paperback is that slightly ruffled and worn look of a well read favourite. Why change that?
PS. I'm a bit of a book lover.
