spot on actually. the first thing i noticed when watching origin was how eerily quiet the crowd was, haha.

another series loss, 3rd game nsw will probably just resort to bashing cunts

Hayne killed on the wing in last years origin, I was at the second match and on the rare occasion Wallace decided to feed it wideish and quickish Hayne nearly got through everytime. I'm not defending Kurt Gidley, personally I've never liked him but the idea of Hayne on the swing had merit.

Why would you drop Lyon? Aside from a few lottery bombs the only times NSW really got a try scoring opportunity was off the back of something Lyon did.

Soward? I laugh at Brett Kimmorley as much as anyone but didn't we (New South Welshman) Learn our lesson these past two seasons about stacking the halves with these bright young things that have no authority and self belief to actually be at the de facto helm of a state of origin side? I know Johns cut it when he was just a boy but Johns also had Brad Fittler at first receiver half the time, likewise Thurston had Lockyer in command when he was trying to find his feet.

I remember Trent Barrett saying once that throughout his time at Saint George he played halfback a handful of times and found the biggest difference was getting to feed the scrum, in that light I probably think he's the best blue halfback going round although I am a fan of Hornby. My side would probably look vaguely like this

1. Hayne
2. Tahu(did his best work there outside Matt Gidley over the years)
3. Idris
4. Jennings
5. Morris
6. Lyon
7.Barrett
8.Perry
9. Ennis(although he is a rat, I wish there was someone else)
10. Weyman
11. Waterhouse
12. Creagh
13. Watmough
14. White
15. Learoyd Lahrs
16. Lewis
17. Hornby

This is what pisses me off about League...

You're a forward or a back... and people play different positions because they're all ball runners and there are very few good play makers.

Union usually people train in one position in particular and are great at it, or play in a similar position (maybe Flyhalf and centre, or Wing and Fullback)
too bad the Australian Wannabees Team is struggling ay?

Shit selections + shit weather = shit game.
Fark off Idris your a fucking myth created by Channel 9, Lyon to centres, Tahu out and Barrett into 5/8, drop that pillow Perry aswell as Waterhouse and TLL and bring in Gallen, Bird and Tolman amd Jason King and Pearce in for Kimmorley( too old and slow)

Bird? I know he's a competent player but surely the great game has some integrity left. Personally I'm a fan of Trent Barrett but I can see that's not gonna happen;but Lyon did nothing wrong anyway, leave him there.
thats not the point.
the status quo is=nsw lost

lyon did do 'fine' there.
but he's a far better 3/4 than a 5/8. he has been the form centre in the competition this year.

yep pearce/barrett would do for me as well in the halves.

we need hayne at fullback, jennings in centre, tahu to right wing and gidley out. gasnier back coming would also be ideal

Played? Neither, I was a soccer kid. Prefer not to have Alzheimers by my thirtieth.

No, bite me, It's a semi-free country...

Too bad you're not actually funny.

-----

Don't get me wrong, I like a good game of league... but I think I've seen about 10 of those in the past five years. I've seen more good AFL games, and I don't even like AFL.

By good I mean games with running ball and non-brick-wall tackling and somewhat strategic kicking not "Oh shit it's the last tackle and I have the ball, quick, kick it" kicking. (But not shithouse Union defense kicking either...)

That's funny.. coz i wasn't trying to be.

I was merely responding to this comment:

The fact that a player like Berrick Barnes, who couldn't even make first grade in League, can simply walk into the Union National team.. speaks volumes about the state of that sport in Australia

idris did well considering
the backs werent given any quality ball to work with but he still made some good runs
quality backs will always make better runs than forwards, but they dont have the stamina to continue it all game and still be good with the ball out wide

um, he was a rookie for one year? he made it into the junior kangaroos side at least.

and the wallabies have at least 5-6 decent teams to contend with, as opposed to like 2 with the kangaroos
