That argument is fallacious. Is a girl being brought up to be girly and like pink a form of oppression? Is a boy who is taught that he should not cry a form of oppression? These are all just social conventions and norms, and social norms have existed in human society since ancient ancient times.

In ancient Greece, it was the social norm to stay away from menstruating women because they were seen as evil. Social norms should be questioned- always.

If said girl and boy were looked on unfavourably by parents and society, treated differently than those who obliged- then yes, it is oppression.

Sorry, no offence, but crazy parents like urs then, if thats how you were raised. Look if u dont like what ur parents have done, just tell them to fuck off and leave no offence, theyve obviously given you a WRONGG understanding of islam because of their narrow mindedness. You can't totally discredit Hadiths. Hadiths are essentially a narration of what the Prohpet had said. However, a great deal of Hadiths lack the credibility so one must be careful of their source, etc.
