So stats and finance is the general consensus so far... and what jobs could that get me after graduation? Statistician and the like?

SomebodyToldMe, perhaps - but I have very weird tastes and very high tastes in women so "normal" standards cannot be applied to me.

Also, can someone tell me what could happen if I was to take the single degree and double major in Applied/Stats?

Teaching, ABS, work as an analyst for banks, data mining, they talk about maths being used to figure out efficiency in companies.

You'll find out more once you start by talking to lecturers and other students...

One major? Really? I talked to the guys at info day and I asked if I could double major and they just said: "No one's done it before". /me shrugs

Also just another question - is statistics... mathsy? Or is it more drawing tree diagrams and conceptual...

don't worry about choosing maths major. First years all the same.
you'll have a glimpse at a bit of applied/pure/stats topics so you'll see what you like.

So I just have to pick the Commerce one - which I've determined to be Finance... so I'm set now?

I suppose the only niggle I have left is: "Should I take the offer for B Comm/B Sc (Adv Maths)?" I'm leaning towards yes - because the double degree means more employability and more skills.

You don't need to choose a major for mathematics until 3rd year. I would choose Statistics.

If I had a choice, I would choose Economics as a major because it's interesting. But out of those two, I'd choose Finance.
