the only thing resembling warfare is the system of kidnapping people and throwing them in cages if they refuse to surrender their money to the state, otherwise known as taxation

seriously though, the word "capitalism" as you use it is utterly meaningless.

In America, government spending accounts for ~44% of GDP. Over the past decade, over 800,000 NEW regulations have been added at the federal level ALONE.
Credit is centralised in the hands of the state (plank of communist manifesto), there is a public education system (communist manifesto plank), a heavily progressive income tax (communist manifesto plank), centralization of the means of communication and transportation in the hands of the State ie. the FCC (communist manifesto plank), and pretty much all other planks to a certain degree.

Nothing even close to a free market (a useful and meaningful term), which is what we advocate. Capitalism is purely a propaganda term.

EDIT: That should have said 800,000 pages of regulations

and the stupid thing is, as you pile on more and more debt and print more and more money to pay for these extensive programs, you push the economy closer and closer to collapse, wherein all of these programs will abruptly go broke, in which case the poor will be completely fucked.

But by all means, lets make the poor increasingly dependant on a government that's broke and is driving off a cliff

This all sounds good, no it sounds GREAT to me! These institutions are far too vital to society to be in the hands of people whose primary concern is making money.

can't afford current welfare levels because they are unsustainable etc

obv solution is to increase welfare and government services

they doubled the DoE funding under bush

no impact on test results by no child left behind

yeah lets throw more money down the drain when it's proven that market mechanisms lead to lower prices and higher quality for everyone

when the OP creates an argument about economics with a view based on passion and emotion and then other posters respond with a view based on having studied actual economics, it goes nowhere

sylvesterbr/rothbard/ etc etc

one of the reason our debates never go anywhere is because most of your economic views are so 18th century.

You're like President Obama, his answer to the recent financial crisis is to hire the same free market capitalists who caused it in the first place, and to address it with the same methods and mentality that exacerbated what was already a dangerously flawed policy.

The fact that you also continue to make insultingly false assumptions about the depth of my knowledge, coupled with the fact that you come across like a selfish angry brat, screaming for attention, doesn't help your case either.

Free market capitalists like yourself are being hoisted by your own petard around the world. Financial bastions and the deluded "temporarily embarrassed millionaire" poor people who regurgitate the propaganda of the plutocracy like you do, subconsciously realize that the writing is on the wall. Your dreams of economic elitism are being cut short by the guillotine of an inevitable French Revolution 2.0.

It's too late for your crying, whining, and angry denunciations, because you have been successful in your efforts to shoot yourself in the foot. You've eroded what's left of the middle class to the point that they are no longer buying the bullshit. The rich/poor dichotomy is not going to end well. I suggest you shift your way of thinking and start working on a way to mitigate the transition.

You let me know when you have something say that is worthwhile and that I haven't heard a thousand times already, perhaps then we'll be able to "get somewhere".
