To be honest I can't really see it happening. The message sent to the public would be that the Labor party continously flip flops and is indecisive.

The Liberal party has had 4 leaders in 3 years or so though remember also. Howard, the doctor guy whose name I can't remember, Turnbull and Abbott. Abbott will probably also be replaced soon enough as well, probably by Turnbull again.

If Gillard was to lose the next election, in all likelihood she would step down as leader. Kevin Rudd would probably win such a leadership vote then. Shorten wouldn't have the numbers. Albanese is of the left and wouldn't have the numbers. Only other possibility would be Stephen Smith.

Yeah but there's a difference between replacing leaders and going back and forth with Rudd steering the ship. While this has happened quite a bit in the past, in this current federal political climate (where Gillard has been under fire for some time about not sticking to promises), it would do more harm than good.

With that being said I liked Rudd much better than Gillard.

Opposition Leaders are disposable and both parties get away with regularly changing leaders in Opposition. It's a whole different proposition doing it whilst in government. Just look how it turned out for NSW Labor.

You know nothing of inner labor factional politics. You say Albo is a member of the left and that rules him out, at the same time a member of the Ferguson left sits on the throne. He wouldn't get it because, well, he's not a contender, why did you even bring him up? Jason Clare has a bigger chance of leading the ALP than Albo does.

On what spaced out, loony basis do you come to the conclusion that Shorten is likely to be bested by Rudd in caucus support? At the moment Rudd would be lucky to have thirty votes in a leadership spill against any member of the frontbench. He ticked off the factions, don't you get that? They can shape the bulk of leadership ballots. Only one member of the NSW right did not endorse Julia Gillard and she was forced to resign immediately after or get rolled in preselection. (Julia Irwin). Smith would be a serious leadership contender if they lost the next election no doubt but you mention him like some afterthought "it's never gunna happen" type of canidate. And no he isn't the only other possibility, if your calling Rudd and Albo in the mix then the obvious name is Combet you dunce. .

Abbott to be dumped as leader before next election. Most likely to be replaced by Turnbull.
Kevin Rudd will be the next leader of the Labor party.

What? Abbott dumped?

Abbott almost pulled off something every opposition leader dreams about at night.

'Almost' - after a first term sitting prime minister was replaced and the bad (leaks, carbon tax etc) campaign Labor had. Abbott will never have a better opportunity than he had at the last election.

There is no chance of Turnbull leading the Liberal Party whilst the carbon tax remains an issue. Abbott will for this reason survive until the next election.

The coalition is also well ahead in the polls.

Abbott doesn't need a better opportunity than he had in the first election, he is ahead in the polls. Having a government self destruct is a win itself, but having an opposition leader continously and successfully hound you about it is a double win.

Hmmm, I doubt Turnbull is coming back soon but you don't really believe Abbott is hanging around for long do you?

I disagree here. The Liberal policy (or lack of) is a sham that can't last. They will soon realize they cannot win by having no alternative, credible policy on climate change and a leader who is quoted as saying "climate change is crap".

Don't spout these bits and pieces unless you can elaborate and show some foundation for the claim.
