who cares. laugh at them when they end up at UWS or TAFE.
:haha:
They do the fun subjects like gen. maths, standard english, community and family studies and like society and culture. We'll see who's laughing at the end of the day.
What i'm worried about though is that my mediocre marks in high scaling subjects < high marks in low scaling subjects
:/

Our future 4U teacher is over-hyping 4 Unit Mathematics. He says it's going to be crazy and is going to require alot of slavery work 6 hours a day. He even sent us some 4U work to do over the holidays.

its not 6 hours a day. it is a lot of work but bcuz 3 unit becomes so easy, 4 unit maths pretty much takes over the workload of 3 unit as well.

This means it becomes quite manageable.

imo, if you do 4u, the need to study for 3u dissipates immensely, there will be very few topics you won't be able to do in 3u without revision (eg freaking financial series applications).

Of course, your 4u workload is also lessened greatly if you can understand the concepts with ease. But even then, being good at 4u requires much work.

Irregardless on whether its in the exam or not, you really should know it well especially since you want to do actuarial studies in uni.

im fine with learning it after my hsc. but it was taught last year in yr 11 at my school and i completely ignored it. i just dont have time to learn it atm.

Also to what extent do u use it in actuarial?
would u recommend i do the whole topic before i start uni?

wtf is this 6 hours a day business...I studied...0 hours a day and in the end did 2 past papers and got e4 easy...Most of 4U isn't even problem solving...It's just following a method. That's true for all of graphs, all of complex (except last part in q2), all of polynomials, all of integration (maybe some reduction etc), all of mechanics....you get the picture...As long as you know how to do it, you'll be fine
