I don't really understand what to do and are these types of questions potential hsc questions? In case people don't have the textbook:

An isosceles triangle has base angles of 76 degrees. What is the ratio of base to side length?

Edit: Couldn't you just use the sine rule?

Use the sine rule. Let the base length be A, and one of the side lengths be B.

sin28 / A = sin76 / B

So the ratio of base to side length is A / B = sin28 / sin76

Now let's see. Let be base. Let be the side lengths.

So the third angle is 28. (Sum of interior angles of triangle.)





Base is shorter than side length.
