Depends on what side of the 0.5 scale your on. If your like 0.49% behind him, then basic maths states that you must round down to the nearest whole number, meaning that yes you will be on par with the dude. Similarly if you were 0.51% behind, then you won't be on par with him.sorry if this is vague but i am just about to do my 4 unit trial and i calculated the guy in front of me is like 3.76% ahead of me at this point, so if after the trials the gap was <1% would the school say i am equal with him?
oh i see, they round off, tnx for the help. i thought maybe they just have something like if your 1 percent or less below a guy you become equal with him.Depends on what side of the 0.5 scale your on. The Board of studies ranks you based on the assessment marks which your school provides them. I remember for me in economics, I was ranked equal forth. But after my school submitted my marks to BOS, they dropped me to 5th because he was beating me by 0.3%.
I have been teaching for over 20 years and we have only ever been allowed to send in whole numbers. It wasn't the BOS that rounded the marks but your school - there is no provision for anything other than whole marks when submitting marks to the BOS and hasn't been since I started sending in marks in 1991.I called the school because when I checked my rank on BOS it was not the same as what was on my report (i was ranked equal forth on my school report). The school told me they send in the marks we got in all our assessments plus our final mark and ranking. Thats when they told me that there was a small difference between me and the other guy and they said that BOS calculates exactly whilst the school rounds off.
Oh wow, thanks for clearing that up !I have been teaching for over 20 years and we have only ever been allowed to send in whole numbers.
