Is there anybody who thinks they have a BAD cohort this year? (2 Viewers)

Seriously, every single person I have talked to, says something along the lines of
"last year my school was ranked "..." but this year, were gonna make it to at least "..." "

Is this just some psychological trend that happens every year where everyone thinks they have the best cohort? Or is this just an anomaly in the HSC, and 2011 will be unusually competitive.

Im thinking the former, but interested to hear your opinions.

I think its mainly a psychological trend. Last year I thought my cohort was really good, but in the end many people did worse than I expected and we slumped to one of our lowest school rankings in years.

Well here at my school, it's more like, 'this year we were ranked _____, and next year, it's going to go up by 100'. Pretty much.

last year our school was like

oh we're gonna do better than last year
turns out that we actually did worse, since there were actually more exams taken (we're a huge school and the numbers of students have increased a lot)
but it actually turned out that the avg ATAR was better than last years

but for our cohort, we're gonna do shit. I'm gonna give a lot of student a hand in 2U, 3U and 4U maths within these 5 weeks

~8 people plus me actually are smart but the rest are soo bad (Some are so stupid that they have a mark of 3 for all there subjects)

I guess it's a good thing in a way, at least they're preparing their foundation skills for year 12.

Most of my cohort doesn't hand in work and gets zero and fails every test. Only reason they don't fail is because it is so hard too.

My marks are going to get scalled down shit loads.

How do you know your cohort is the best when you haven't done the hsc yet?
Maybe your school just set way too easy exams....

Do you go to cheltenham cost then obviously you'll get lots of state ranks. In about studies

Our school is pretty descent.. for a public school i reckon we put in descent effort and obtain alright marks =DDD..

Yeah my cohort definetly has some talent but then again alot of people are lazy and un-motivated.. but naturally most of them are really smart.......

But yeah the ones in top 5 in every subject are very hard-working and i'd expect 80-90+ from alot of people this year
