Will an commerce degree majoring accounting help me later I want to be a CEO.

I also want to set up my own business so will an accounting major help me more than a finance major?

It might help you get there if you take the path of say, working in an accounting firm in audit, moving to consulting, moving to financial reporting, moving to deputy CFO, etc... and eventually CEO. But I wouldn't bet on it alone.

i.e. Do an MBA.

ps. Accounting > Finance for most things other than finance. But neither will be that useful if you want to run your own business- you'd be better off focussing on doing what your core competency is and letting a Tafe graduate (or the local accountant) do your books.

Accounting knowledge is valuable indeed! Get your CA and it might help you down the track. =)

But your best bet would be MC (management consulting). Getting MC experience at one of the top MC company would be good (i.e. Bain, Mckinsey, or BCG)

It's really more for the benefit of others (particularly those who aren't really knowledgeable) who may stumble upon this thread and actually be serious.
