Is the hsc mark quoted in this table the raw mark or aligned? it makes sense that it is the raw mark since alignment is a completely separate process conducted by bos not uac. however, that means that ppl in the past 3/4 years have been getting full marks in maths extension 2 (v hard to believe). guidance on this matter would be appreciated.

It is the ALIGNED and AVERAGED HSC mark. That is, the thing that appears on your HSC piece of paper. It is the average between the moderated/aligned exam and assessment mark.

Although they are separate processes they are linked. As the BOS/UAC will not public raw marks, they must go off HSC marks.

the 50.0 shown in the max mark section in ext 2 merely means the max mark was 100 aligned, not raw

so let me get this straight: bos sends uac raw and aligned marks, uac uses raw marks for scaling, but uses aligned marks for table.

BOS sends in raw exam marks and the moderated assessment marks. UAC does their own scaling using their methods (eg. Bell curve).
