my guess is rape being about "power" means that rapists are indoctrinated by patriachal male society (and thus believe they have the right to dominate women by using them as dick deposities for their own personal amusement and that women are inferior to them and rape is a means to express one's own dominance) and this causes rape - eliminating patrichal male society means that rape will be eliminated, therefore those that oppose eliminating "patriachy" (of course by following feminist prescriptions) are pro-rape or something

How is rape about power? It must e a mixture of power and sexual pleasure because men could just beat the shit out of a woman for power. Also, there are fetishists for rape, showing that certain people do it for sexual pleasure.

im personally not willing to make any pronouncements with much conviction to what actually motivates rape but still sylvesters question is an interesting one and something ive been thinking about for a long time too. why do feminists froth at the mouth when somebody says rape is (or even CAN BE) motivated by anything other than power.
