Yes, I did. I had rational, reasonable goals, and therefore, the HSC really didn't feel like a big deal at all.

Personally, I was well aware of the power of getting good results in the HSC but it never reached the level of obsession I see here on BoS. Mind you, that isn't really a criticism as I cruised through Year 12 and got really good results. I know that other people don't have the same natural talent.

It's just that some of the things you see here like the users stressing over the release of their personal exam timetable yesterday indicates that students are making irrational decisions because they build up the HSC into something it really isn't.

Pfft, some of the guys on this site. Get the highest ATAR possible, get a job at some tryhard "only 99.95ATAR tutors" tutoring college and then profit.

Also, the amount of money those bastards get through scholarships, the rich get richer.

i don't see your real point, people who put in hard work should be rewarded with scholarships, as employees want hard working people, and a person's ATAR is ROUGHLY reflective of a person's motivation and natural talent. Currently, in conjunction with an interview, personal credentials and ATAR, this is the most efficient way for employees to judge the "worth" of a person so why do you refer to them as "bastards"? jealousy? Also, why would someone want to be tutored by a person who scored 70 in a HSC subject as opposed to 95+, it is counter intuitive.

Honestly, I reckon its because students dont know any better. When you're in the younger years, teachers etc build the HSC up into this mythical, apocalyptic event in your life.

I said that they hire ONLY 99.95ATAR. You can be really good at a subject, but because you didn't get 99.95ATAR they won't hire you. They have to continue their arrogance. They won't hire someone with 99.90ATAR. It's meant to be all part of their business model , prey on the insecurities of asian parents.

Although I can't be as calm as Absolute or enilogram, as I still have to do the thing, but I'm relatively calm about it. I'm not aiming for a 99.95 or anything so it's not as much stress on myself.
