Don't worry so much about what others will think about your ATAR. Yes, it is impressive, however asking questions ''is it good'' is up to you. Some people are very happy with an 80 ATAR, a 70 etc. It is what you think about it. And it shouldn't be something to impress people about (not suggesting you intend to do that, just saying in general.)

Also, remember that so many other students would have loved to have your kind of estimations, i personally think that is a great achievement for you, so don't put yourself down about it, other students would have loved that.

What is very important is what you achieve in Uni, the HSC will not be significant anymore (from what I hear)

Many thanks for your support. :) I don't intend to really brag to anyone but I want a mark that I can be proud of at the end of the day. If someone asks me what my ATAR was I'd like to be able to hold my head up high about it. I guess what I'm really asking is whether it's an ATAR to be proud of in state-wide terms.

I feel like a failure putting up my marks here compared to all the people getting band 5s and 6s but whatever!
Basically I have four Band 4s and two Band 5s.

2 Ancient History 73/100 77/100 75 4
2 Biology 77/100 73/100 75 4
2 Chemistry 79/100 71/100 75 4
2 English (Standard) 80/100 73/100 77 4
2 General Mathematics 78/100 82/100 80 5
2 Visual Arts 80/100 86/100 83 5

ATAR estimate anybody? The ATAR calculators estimated my ATAR between 73~75.

I'd think you were looking more at a 75-77. Those two band 5s will stop you from being pushed too far down.

You're certainly not a failure. :)

Sorry if it came across as rude, but think about what you are saying. If they can read the response you will lose minimal or no marks for handwriting. If they can't read it, they cannot give marks. Now in the event your handwriting was too messy, nothing can be done. They can't remark, because they can't read it. Unless you physically have to dictate it to them, which doesn't happen.
Our eco teacher, who is a hsc marker said that one year he couldnt read someone's essay, so they had to ring him up and get him to read it . Then again, it was an essay which are worth 20 marks each, so i suppose it depends on the subject

That feel when it's been a year and you're still slightly bitter about the HSC. Don't end up like me kids.

English Advanced: 97 (pulled down to 92)
English Extension 1: 98 (49/50) (pulled down to 44)
English Extension 2: 96 (48/50) (pulled down to 45)
Biology: 82
Chemistry: 79 (-.-)
Ancient History: 91
Music 1: 91
FML...
Note, I was tied equal first with othet students, who pulled me down drastically!!
For Ext 1 and 2, there were only two-three students.
My adv cohort was not the best!
How do you get scaled down for english extension 2 to my knowledge its an independent project shouldn't that be completely your own mark?
