It's different, but I'm not sure if it's TSP only. The invite came in the mail with a few other things and it says "This event gives you the opportunity to find out more about Science at Sydney and our unique Talented Student Program (TSP). Come along to meet our leading researchers, world-class teaching staff and current TSP students."Oh god, I can't handle how friendly and socially adjusted the people on the SLAM lunch page look.
Edit: Looks like they might not be the same. What is it? Google isn't giving me answers.
SLAM is basically having free lunch with fellow first years and your team leader (often a senior student) who helps answer any questions you might have about uni + general socialising. I've worked in SLAM as a leader before and it was quite nice meeting all the first years.Oh god, I can't handle how friendly and socially adjusted the people on the SLAM lunch page look.

Yeah it is open to everyone doing science. Depending on time the lunch occurs, there will often be activities (e.g. ice breakers) or just a general chit chat about uni life and how to cope with its demands. At the beginning of this year, we had sorta a picnic style lunch along the campus lawns. That's open to everyone doing science, right?
Just out of curiousity, what'd you do?

I also recommend going to the Science Transition Workshop which is basically a whole day of fun and activities + an opportunity to make friends before uni starts.
MX1, but yeah, hopefully . What course do you want to do?No invite for me, but at least they sent me scholarship paperwork yesterday, yay for money! I assume this is you being TSP for killer MX2 results?
When I am a uni student, I wil attempt to use open days as my free food opportunities.
Join clubs & societies during O-Week and you'll make the small fees back through the free lunches throughout the year.No invite for me, but at least they sent me scholarship paperwork yesterday, yay for money! I assume this is you being TSP for killer MX2 results?

If experience serves me right, the university prefers to do event management online as they can automate a lot of the logistical hassles which would usually be done manually (e.g. name tags). Is it "exclusive" as it says it is?
You just register online to join the event lol

Yeah, idk... You have to put your name in though, so they probably just cross-check it with whoever's on the invite list. Still, at least you had to put in your UAC number for the High Achievers Breakfast though. Is it "exclusive" as it says it is?
