Tmr is my first day at uni, i have a lecture and workshop. Im only gonna take one book for me bcoz i dont know what books to buy. I will also bring my ipad. Are we gonna get homework and assignments from first day. Should we be talking notes.?

Just relax. First lectures are just an introduction on what will be happening in your course and maybe the 1st topic you'll be learning. One book should be fine you'll probalby have to give your name to your class as an introduction and note taking is up to you. 1st years have it easy

Take a book, take a few notes, follow their instructions. That's about it.

Yeah, introductions are only for tutorials. And he did give you the link, just put it in your address bar and it comes up as:
