I am a Christian but I still am unsure around religion, because my parents are atheists. I barely go to church, and I think I am losing my faith, which I think I shouldn't be doing because I want to strengthen my faith.

This is a wonderful thread. I think it is fantastic to have people of other faiths on this forum! It means that we won't get false information about other religions. Think about it, if your car broke down, would you go to a lawyer? If you have a question about a particular religion, it is best to ask the followers of that religion :)

I respect all religions but Christianity is one that raises my eyebrow. Some people say you will go to hell if you're not Christian or believe in God, I believe using that element of fear to drive people to follow a religion is wrong. I am a person who follows science and logic and for a God to create everything because he felt like it just seems weird. However my conscience tells me there is a some sort of God out there.. but I believe that it's human nature to believe in a higher being so maybe it's human nature that drove people to believe in a some sort of God thus it's people that created a God? Sorry if I've offended anyone, just my opinion.

Well if a non-religious person does not commit any sins and is a good person for his whole life would he be in Hell or Heaven?

I'd call myself Christian... parents are not religious, but I've always believed there is a God. Still figuring things out though.

Yeah, I'm a firm believer of Christianity and the like, but I think that people are so flawed that important ideals and beliefs get lost in translation and become skewered... for example, everyone is harping on about how the bible does not condone gay love (a passage in Leviticus states that it's 'an abomination'), yet people forget that the old testament also condones rape, bigamy and even states to cast out women who are on their period...

Tldr; I'm Christian but I do my best to ignore the hypocrisies.

Well, good thing I don't support the KKK. I just believe there is a lot of things that are lost in translation when the bible was written and past down.

And your signature, sir, I can't stop laughing.

I am an agnostic atheist:

I do not personally believe in the existence of a god, nor do I think that satisfactory proof or disproof of his existence can be found.

If gods existence was proven tomorrow, I do not think it would change the way I live my life.

I do not judge people on their religions, but I do sometime judge people one what they do in life and justify with their religion.

I think there are a pretty universal set of morals that it would be nice if people had, but at the end of the day people should just do what makes them happy.

None.

I think men and women are the ones who save lives.

I find it ridiculous that a good person who is a non-believer is considered worthy of eternal condemnation over a bad person who is a believer.

I think grand and expensive buildings for worship are disgusting.

I think the fact that religious scriptures being written by men is straight away a sign of absolute bullshit.

I think the fact that your parents have the ability to influence on your beliefs is a bullshit and a half.

I think the fact that the only connection to "god" (the assumed all powerful creator of everything) in this universe are feelings or "conversations" in people's heads is ahhhh, lets just say interesting.

I also think that the idea of religious scriptures being open to interpretation means they are invalid. If some things like where apparently "god hates gays" has been interpreted incorrectly, then therefore all the angelic parts of the bible are possibly wrong.

There is a lot wrong with religion, ALOT. Albeit I don't give a shit about what others believe as long as it has no effect on my life or anything political.

+1.

I've personally gone from apathetic to agnostic to atheist and back to agnostic in the last 5 or so years.

Yeah, it's odd. Not too representative of Australia as a whole and you'd imagine there would be more Atheists (or religions besides Christianity) among the people who frequent this site.
