okay, so i do Mathematics C and i can do that perfectly fine with an average grade of A-, however my mathematics B studies are... average. C level. I need to rapidly increase my grade because im interested in medicine and with so little time lef tin my year twelve year i feel that i wont even have a chance. i have trouble with remembering all of the formulas (recently its been my log laws and for which functions i use the chain, product and quotient rules for). i can do all the work in class without any mistakes due to the prior work in my book however when it comes to my tests i bomb out due to lack of memory. i have my tests coming up in two weeks and i really need help! any tips would be muchly appreciated!!

What's this - Maths B, C etc? Not NSW Maths surely.

Edit - got it; from the banana state.

I'm surprised you do well in Maths C and not maths B when C is the hardest of the 3 levels A, B and C.

Whilst it's an advantage to have all the math formulae at your finger tips - the best way to remember them is to continually use them in actual exercises. Just trying to commit any formula to memory, in isolation of actual usage, is for most of us difficult & futile.

Having moved up to QLD and going through the horrible process of equating subjects for comparison between one another:

Maths C = Maths Extension 1 & 2
Maths B = Mathematics Advanced
Maths A = General Maths

Well obviously you've got to do exercises and practice on the formulas you struggle with. Some people also find it helpful to make a FORMULA SHEET, which is basically a list of formulas. Alternatively, you could make notes where you list formulas and provide one or two examples on how they can be applied. I find that doing exercises and applying formulas to questions helps me remember the formulas. Remember, maths shouldn't be like a science where they test you on memory.
