For past HSCers, how was your final examination mark on the BOS report in comparison to your final internal assessment mark?
I heard people considerably improve towards end of HSC and thus their exam mark is reflective of that, but then again won't the internal mark be moderated up then? The final exam mark is your performance in the HSC exam. The assessment mark is moderated based on your school mark and how well your cohort did, especially in terms of the range of marks.
Some of my marks were really close, one was considerably distant. I don't see the point of your question though.
So you got a final HSC mark of 80s for legal?I can't recall precisely, but I do remember every one of my internal marks were lower than my external performance considerably, with the exception of Society and Culture. The most drastic difference was my Legal Studies marks which were in the 70s internally but 97 in the exam mark. It'll be different from person to person because the schools set their internal exams to different standards, not necessarily reflective of the external exam.
Assuming the whole cohort considerably improves, then yes, their assessment mark would reflect that. But at the same time, whilst you as an individual might considerably improve, if your cohort does not, then since the moderated assessment mark factors in the highest/lowest HSC exam marks, then no, you may not get an assessment mark reflective of your own performance.I heard people considerably improve towards end of HSC and thus their exam mark is reflective of that, but then again won't the internal mark be moderated up then?
The point is I'm curious as to if I should expect a higher, lower or similar mark.
No, I got a 94 for Legal. My moderated assessment mark was 91. I was talking about my internal assessment mark average which I thought you were talking about. So you got a final HSC mark of 80s for legal?
No.is your examination mark (external mark) affected by your internal performance in any way?
wowwww i have been heavily misinformed for many months if this is the case.
Well if you perform badly it will make your internal mark go down as compared to others which will decrease your overall HSC mark since moderation takes into account the relative gaps.wowwww i have been heavily misinformed for many months if this is the case.
Haha, it is definitely the case. It is your own performance, so if you get 70, then you get 70 for your exam mark, even if you're first. So it is important that even first place does well in the exams, let alone everyone.wowwww i have been heavily misinformed for many months if this is the case.
