Pfft. ESL teaches you more English than Standard does.
+1

It's not ESL so you are not excused.

Don't hate ESL. lols. I do ESL and can speak English perfectly. I simply dropped from Standard to ESL due to the shit scaling of standard. ( I was eligible to do so as i moved to Australia 3-4 years ago.)

I'm not hating on ESL bro, I know you guys are pretty capable. But Mr.Panda is not an ESL student, hence, if his grammar and punctuation is not top notch, he is not excused.

Curious: If you don't get into med, what are you gonna do?
Good question! If my atar is 99+ then I will probably take a gap year, resit UMAT (since i stuffed up my section 2 this year) and try again. If i don't get a very high atar then I'll probably do Med science/Advanced Science at UNSW/USYD, do umat and apply as a non-standard.
If i don't get in during the first year of uni, then I'm gonna do the GAMSAT and apply for graduate medicine eg USYD MD.

sooooooooo yeah. Gonna try all my life until i make it because i really am passionate about med and believe that nothing will ever be a good enough excuse to do something you don't enjoy for a living.

I am familiar with all medschools in NZ and you won't be accepted into any of their 'MEDICINE' programs with that atar.
and Adrita, do you wanna do med science and do grad entry?

sigh... People like you piss me off.. I'm an active member on MSO. HSFY is not medicine. It stands for 'Health Science First Year' and it does NOT guarantee your acceptance into their medicine program. NZ's admission is different to AUS, they accept students after their first year uni which is why they have this course.
So don't go around talking shit saying ' I can get into medicine with 80 if i want'. HSFY is a very challenging course and not all applicants will get a place in med after they finish it.

'As a further indication of the competition involved, generally 1250-1400 students will commence HSFY at the start of any given academic year, and 180-190 students will be accepted into medicine from HSFY every year.'
You obviously didn't even bother reading the article properly and stopped reading as soon as you saw the 'Min Atar of 80'

When did I say it guarantees acceptance into Medicine? I said I can get into Med if I want with 80 ATAR as this allows me to do HSFY which is the initial step towards Medicine. And no shit not all applicants get accepted, obviously you have to do well in it and I've got that in mind.
