Hi :)
First post XD
Is it possible getting a job at PwC or Ernst and Young with an undergraduate economics degree?
What other large organisations would hire with this degree and/or the skills that are learnt with it?
How do you get a job after you've completed your uni degree?

A guy who got an 86 ATAR and went to UTS got his first job at Ernst and Young, while he was at uni. I'll pm you the name if I can find it.
God you make it sound like people with low ATARs and who didn't go to Go8 can't get a job and when they do it's going to make the news or something :haha:

I was implying because he spelt Ernst & Young wrong lol

That would either be a cadetship or vacationer program.

You don't. You try and get it before you finish your degree.(well if that fails you do it after) ,start by applying to every major company you can, that might be a start.

Thanks for answering!
And say if I wanted to get into Financial Economics, what other major companies are willing to hire someone with this degree?

Financial institutions and consulting companies would be two possible options.

Yes it was something like that. He had a contract. It was similar to co-op but at UTS.

Our friend on the street will make it into the big 1 when he finishes tafe :haha:

This is very true. Especially in the field of Commerce.

YES. Economics is still somewhat in the 'business' field. They have people with science and engineering degrees as well.

I think with accounting, you best start early. If you prefer to study full time, internship is probably the best. After that, you are pretty much in, unless you majorly stuff up.

RBA? CBA etc. If I was doing econ, RBA would be my goal haha.

good luck!

Also, quick tip: In interviews and application, don't say/write Ernst and Young - say 'EY'

Thanks guys!
Could someone please explain to me what a Vacationer Program is? This one appeals to me the most
Like what is it exactly, will I still be able to do full time study at uni whilst on this program? Does it include being paid whilst taking part in this program? By taking this program will it ensure a job straight after I graduate?
