I mined in a pool for 5 hours.
Earned like 0.0001 bitcoin.
Imo its not worth it if you didn't jump on the bandwagon ages ago.
My computer got annoyed with me mining and decided to get its revenge by blue-screening the computer. :O

Mining with a gpu for bitcoin is pointless now with asic.

I was thinking of buying some AMD 7950's (if i can find any in stock) and building a dedicated rig for litecoin but i don't think i'll bother anymore.

Pretty much this.
The digital currency bubble will either pop or become mainstream and succeed. Most if the time i just remember back to the times they were cheap and wished i had bought some :(

I've been thinking about investing in bitcoins.. have to install qt and armory first. I'm speculating.. I'm suprised how exponentially it has risen, and looking at all these articles of people who have earned so much back in the days when a bitcoin was only worth $20 ish dollars.
I have to backup a lot in hard drives and stuff obviously.
My friend is also interested and his dad thinks it's a bad decision as bitcoins has already risen so much in value, and yeah as discussed above - the digital currency bubble might either pop or become mainstream...
I think it's worth a bet.. might invest soon.
Hope it doesn't get outlawed.

I own about 0.1BC atm but I used to have a fair bit more. I don't know enough about finance to speculate much but as a consumer I do like the idea of a decentralised anonymous currency and I hope it catches on more than it already has.

I'm looking more towards litecoin, it seems like it has more upside.

I'm quite wary about it all though, JP Morgan is trying to patent it's own cyrptocurrency so it will be interesting to see how bitcoin reacts

If your pc is hacked you're screwed regardless of having bitcoin or not.
Not really ... Program's and crap you can always get back.... As for say (20,000 bucks worth of bitcoins), nope.

I have my bitcoins stored on an offline computer using armory. I bought two of them earlier this year when they were only $120ish.

I doubt it will be outlawed soon as the ATO from what I read somewhere released a statement saying capital gains/something similar or along those lines (cant remember) related to bitcoins is now taxable and considering the amounts of profit some people have made with them. I wanna get me some dogecoins tho.

I've looked at the value for the past month.. when I first found out about bitcoins, they were worth about $800 AUD, they dropped to $600 some point and now they're at roughly $935..

Mmm.. dunno if it will rise more than a k.

Would be so amazing if I bought bitcoins back in the days they were only worth $20 ><
