Have you ever been in a revue? Do you want to be in one? Did you enjoy it? Why/ why not? How time consuming is it etc.

I've been to one before. I thought it was good, but to be completely honest it's not really my type of humour. The humour tends to be very intellectual and more or less based on inside jokes from uni. Call me crude, but my brand of humour is stuff like Fat Pizza (i.e. cultural stuff, everyday satire etc). To me it was a one off type deal - I experienced it but I wouldnt really be inclined to see another because it isnt my thing (unless I was going to support a friend or something).

They arent very long - maybe two hours with an intermission.

I believe I still owe you big time for this. :/ Thanks again!

@flashy Revues are fun. I have only been to one science revue and med revue to support friends. Some revues have free all you eat and drink parties (like Engineering if I remember right).

I want to be in one :)
But I can't :( (I have placement before revue season so I can't go to rehearsals and stuff)
I believe they take up quite a bit of your time if you're in one, but I do believe it's worth it.

I went to 2 last year, I enjoyed them heaps :)

Heya,

I've been in two revues, but one was a college one lol so I'm just going to talk about my great love of the SciRevue.

I did SciRevue last year and it was extremely fantastic, the cast was like one big family, the socials are very fun. The rehearsals are once to twice a week depending (normally one to start off, but two a week as the show gets closer in sem 2) but there is some flexibility in attendance if you have uni things on.The week of the show you are expected to be at the theatre a lot. It can be time consuming near the production time (3 shows with dress/tech as well as some weekend rehearsal time 2-3 weeks leading up to show), so you just have to be organised with your time, also I heard some people were able to arrange some special con with the faculty beforehand if they had a lot of assessments in that week. I would say it was worth it for me 100%.

I will vouch in that I've been in quite a few theatre shows and that SciRev was quite a neat and good production. It's not only a kicker of a show, but has a big social event with the camp and afters and what not. I'm so torn to do whether to do it again, cause I know I am much busier next sem with more hours at uni and weekend cheer comps/I kinda want to do the MADSOC production because it was good last year.

But srs, most of the main big revues on campus have a super great family/social side and everyone loves to do it-definitely a once at least during your time at uni, SciRev was fantastic and so much fun! Which one are you thinking of doing?

One of my SciRev friends loves revues so much he was in 3 faculties at once! It's actually common for people to be drawn to the amazing nature of SciRev even if they aren't a science student *nods* (Same with Comm last year)

Filling me with such nostalgia <3 Everyone from last year keeps telling me to do it again and I know I'm probs too busy unless I juggle my commitments a bit differently (which I am contemplating not doing something else to fit in SciRev rehearsal time).

How so?

Dont get me wrong though, I still enjoyed the experience (being with friends/supporting them is always good), I was just a little like this throughout the whole thing:
