Which hsc raw mark do you need for a band 6 in chemistry if you're at a low ranked school like 300 ?

School ranking has nothing to do with it. However you would probably want to be in top five at your school to have a chance.

Last year iirc the cut-off was 76-77/100 raw.

That's usually the B6 cut-off for Chemistry. I think one year it was low 80's but that barely happens. Its usually in the 70's.

Do you still think I can get a band 6 if I am in top 3 at my school which is ranked 300?? Because there are people at the bottom of our cohort getting 10 - 30 %, and the majority of the cohort gets 50 - 70% and there's a few people with 80 and above. Do I still have a chance? I really want a band 6 I wont get dragged down much right?

how big is your whole chemistry cohort and what what is your exact rank? (im guessing third)

Coming from a 600+ school that got 3 band 6's last year for Physics and everyone got over 84 in Chemistry (but no B6 lol), its definitely possible! Try your best and you will be capable of a B6.

A guy on BoS ordered their marks and got 72/100 for an 86 raw mark for last year (2013).

I meant the examination mark. The final exam mark. The school and ranking has got nothing to do with it :L

This year's cut off was higher. If you got 93 that was low 80's raw this year.

In most years, it's low-mid 70s.
