So I'm ranked first in business studies and I only got 74% then everyone else got around 60%. Does this mean my cohort is going to drag me down? Or does it not matter seeing as I'm ranked first?

Your ranked first, doesn't matter

You're unaffected - Only way you can affected is if someone else gets a higher external mark than you in which case your internal mark becomes the same as his external mark.

As long as you are first, I'm pretty sure you get the highest mark for your internals.

Isnt it a good thing?

Once ur first internally
Does that mean no matter how bad u do in hsc exam
U still get the 1st highest external mark (from
Someone else)
???

Of course that's a good thing. You will get the highest external mark as your assessment mark (which is 50% of your hsc mark) regardless of how bad you do

Yes, coming first ensures that you get the highest moderated assessment mark in your subject cohort - this mark will be equal to the highest HSC exam mark achieved by your subject cohort. Note that this is dependent on your cohort's performance (more specifically your performance) in the HSC exam so don't think 1st always equates to top bands.

If you are ranked first, then you determine your mark.
