Thought I might start one of these, been reflecting offline but this hopefully means I can get some more support.

I go to a rank 200ish school.

My subjects are:

English Advanced (goal 85+) - 17/45 and 70% in prelim, working on it haha mainly trying to find the motivation [emoji26]

General Maths (goal 95+) - 1/60 and 96% in prelim, dropped from 2u and lovin' it [emoji12]

Economics (goal 95+) - 1/23 and 93% in prelim + won ASB award, so much fun finding out how the world works [emoji7]

Business (goal 95+) - 1/32 and 94% in prelim, I'm a passionte entrepreneur myself [emoji7]

IPT - (goal 95+) 1/12 and 95% in prelim, fun and have an awesome teacher [emoji2]

SDD (goal 93+ if I keep it) - 1/24 and 92% in prelim, fun but hate all the theory and its online, thinking of dropping to boost English [emoji15]

My goal atar is 90 for a Bachelor of Business Bachelor of Creative Intelligence and Innovation at UTS.

Currently trying to get into a 2 hrs every night study routine but struggling with it and staying focused on the weekends.

As you can see by my ranks I'm pretty competitive, so let the games begin!!!

Hey, when you say 2hrs of study, do you mean that you study all of your subjects in that two hour time period? Also how do you study? Do you go over what you had in class that day or do you do something different?

I mean I aim for 2 hours of intense work, I use the stopwatch on my watch to record it and reset it daily, then fill it in to a weekly progress tracker thing I have set up.

By study right now that has meant taking notes and learning ahead of the class as well as doing exercises for maths and any other homework. But I am trying to get into a spaced repitition habit as well, hoping to review everything we have done so far in every subject once a week as well as use StudyBlue to make flashcards for crucial points, definitons, statistics, case studies etc.

gl remember that study is a habit that is hard to make and easy to break, so once you get into a solid study habit make sure not to get out of it haha

So I didn't get that much done yesterday except debating which country to use for my case study in Eco, thinking Ireland if I am not still forced to do China. I also started compiling a list of notes I have found online, and had a look at some things for IPT. No real hard work though, was quite disappointed in myself after seeing what duhdevitt had gotten up to. :newburn:

Today will be different though. We are starting with The Crucible (Module C) in Adv English, and we spent the first 2 weeks getting an overview of the unit and looking at an option for a related text but we are actually diving into it tomorrow. I read the Great Gatsby in the holidays (I was more interested in it) and almost finished the crucible, still have 20 pages to go so hoping to finish it today. Have started looking at a video of the actual play being performed by Williams College. It's annoying because most schools are starting with Discovery, we are going C, A, B, AOS so finding resources is hard - every time I search up the crucible it comes up with belonging and the forums for Module C haven't even been updated yet cause most schools won't start on it for a while...

So my goals for today are:
-Finish reading The Crucible, make list of main characters
-Setup note taking structure for Crucible for second reading
-Finish 13C and 13D in maths
-Take notes / learn 10 pages in Eco textbook and update definitions page
-Take notes / learn 10 pages in Business textbook and update definitions page
-Setup note taking structure for IPT
-Finish compiling useful notes I have found
-Decorate room with motivational quotes, pics and my ATAR goal

That is in order of priority, if I manage to get it all done it will put me ahead for business and eco this week and ready for english, ipt and maths. English + maths I see no point in working ahead, but I do want to start doing it in IPT as well. And at this point, I am just not doing the work for software (it is an online course so I get a free period whenever I have it)

If I get all that done I will be quite happy, that is probably about 4 hours of work.

do u have any ipt assignments ?
Probably about to get 1, we are starting with topic 2 so going to be making a database. We have only had 2 lessons of the HSC course so far though, and in the 1st one we chose our option topics (decision support systems and multimedia) and the the 2nd one we worked together on a basic database on films in access. Hbu?

How do you study ahead of the class for Maths? How do you manage to learn new concepts by yourself without a teacher helping you?

In general maths so covered heaps of the hsc stuff when I did 2u for most of prelim, not really trying to get ahead with maths but there are so many resources I find it easy to learn by myself, then I just ask the teacher if I hve questions.

Do others get jealous of you because you are ahead of everyone else?

I'm not ahead in the current topic but like with algebra and trig for example I've alredy covered everthing. I dropped 3 days before the yearly and topped the grade, there was a bit of jealousy with that. It's going to be hard to stay rank 1 this year with all the hard work people are putting in, I need to up my game haha

Finished the crucible, so happy about that! Now setting up how I will analyse it and making a list of the main characters. It's amazing how doing a bit of work makes you feel so much better. Also contacted and English tutor that said 'affordable' in a Gumtree add nek minut he says to me $80 an hour haha I cut him down pretty harshly, but to warrant a tutor in the first place I am going to have to put a lot more work in
