i am stuck on these questions coz there are 2 very correct answers in each...

1. bob yogurts has introduced a fat free product as a result of doing market research which indicated that customers preferred to eat healthy.
this illustrates how marketing should:
a) be customer focused as it aims to meet their needs.
b) diversify to meet customer demand.

c) always introduce healthy alternative to their products.
d) differentiate their products in order to compete with other businesses.
I am sure b is correct but why can't a be as well?

2. a business has a range of products across the product life cycle.
which marketing strategy could be adopted to increase profits for the business in the short term?
a) eliminate non-performing products.
b) research new distribution channels.
c) increase the product research and development budget.
d) use a discount pricing policy on the full range of products.
I am sure of d but a is also a suitable answer.

1 b cause it saus there is a new product, which means they have the one with and one without so they are diversifying

2. a cause they won't be spending money producing them, also depending on the discount it may not increase profit just clear stock.

These are just my thoughts but we're still on operations. How are you on marketing already haha?

but wouldn't that stop sales thus reducing profits, wheras in d, low prices=more sales.

and my school starts on marketing for some reason lel

It is a bad performing product though, meaning it isn't doing well probably in sales so there is left over stock; by eliminating the product the business may be able to increase it's overall profit because it doesn't have production costs that aren't being countered by sales.

Also, low prices = more sales, but low prices also = less profit per sale.

I guess it could go either way, mind you d could be more short term plus I would say it is more related to marketing then a.

Where did you get this question from?

1 , ANSWER IS A (the more correct of the two)
2. ANSWERS is D... eliminating the NON PERFORMING is long term as they wouldn't introduce it back again (you wouldn't discount for a long time... discounting is normally short term >> LOWER PROFITS)
