I feel like I'm falling behind in academics because I failed to get an academic award at presentation night this year

Um, well basically, I'm looking for a tutor that is knowledgable in upper school maths/english/science and can possibly teach me more advanced material as well as going through the Year 9 stuff and making sure I understand it.

Location: We can discuss this but my mum prefers Chatswood/State/Ryde Library.

English/Mathematics it can help to have a tutor to gain concrete fundamental skills in the subjects..

Tbh i find coaching centres more helpful because there is a syllabus you follow, tests, and peer pressure.
Some good places in your area i know of are:
- matrix (a bit pricy though)
- prime education
- Kurt (very helpful for maths)
- talent 100 (good for physics and chem)
At times coaching and tutoring are not uncessary though. For english just read a lot and practise essays. For maths, buy a book and COMPLETE IT. I always finding myself starting sometime and not completing it. For science copy notes from a textbook

I went to Matrix for 2 terms this year, but I'm an introverted/shy person so it's really hard for me to ask questions and participate in class ;_;

For mathematics, there are online videos/resources such as

which can be useful to explain concepts, plus you don't have to pay!

Yes yes, it's the syllabus that matters the most! Nowadays, most tutoring centres teach their students content one term ahead of school, and I find that extremely helpful (provided you put the effort in and not just forget everything). And yea I personally find tutoring centres better because the learning environment is more comfortable meaning that less stress is inflicted on you.

As for science, I don't really believe that tutoring is necessary as I never tutored for it and I managed to top the whole grade in one exam and come equal 1st and 2nd my own class multiple times (fyi, I'm not naturally smart, just very hard working and persistent). But if you must, then Matrix education wouldn't be a bad choice

English: just read, find a good tutor and hope your English teachers know what they're doing lol. You expect selective high schools to have top notch English teachers and yet the ones at my school can't teach for sh!t ._. Hence why there's a massive fluctuation in exam scores (the ones who have good tutors/are naturally smart get 85%+ whilst the average students get like ±70% with maxed out efforts ._.)

Maths: I only recommend one place and that's Ngo's and Son's/Truongs (call it whatever u like). They teach rly well and if you're able to cope with fast pace teaching and super strict learning environment, join it! I used some of the year 8 notes they taught me for my year 10 finals lol. Albeit it may be a bit of hassle for you to travel there

In regards to you confidence/introvert personality, I suggest joining your local Cadets/Scouts group or get a customer services job! Especially cadets because it's legitimate military training and if you put in effort, you will gain a lot from it (make sure you go on promotion/ general service training courses because that's where you learn a lot of that confidence and leadership stuff). I was once an introvert but after joining Cadets for 2 years, I am no longer scared to ask anything lol. Not even scared of my deputy principal who's suppose to be super freaky and everyone avoids her
