Ik I've probably asked something similar before, but I need clarification or something to put my mind at ease coz it's slowly consuming me.
If my averages for most of my subjects (after trials) are in high 70s to mid-high 80s (apart from english which is in the 60s :/ ) is it possible for me to achieve an 80-85+ atar if I do well in the externals?

I'm particularly worried about English as I think it's dragging me down. One essay completely ruined my overall trial mark for english.

How well would I need to do in my externals to get an 80+ atar? Currently, when I put my marks into the ATAR calc, it says I'll get a mid 70s ATAR D:

All of my ranks are single digits except for English which is in the 30s (out of 42 people).

And what is worse is no matter what, I just can't seem to study or focus ;-; I think I completely died inside after trials/ major.

Anyway, do you guys think it's okay for me to have maybe 4-5 days off? I've never been this sick before in my life, it's so horrible.

My marks are quite inconsitent for english, but im generally a B range student. There was one essay which i had not studied the poems for in my trials (as i ran out of time) and got 6/20 since id written nothing on it. im just really annoyed because my mark couldve been a bit higher for english.

For my externals i hopefully will have studied a lot more and will remember everything properly. So is B range for externals generally okay?

And i reckon you should defs take some time off, if you keep pushing yourself your sickness will hang around for a while - my friend was like dying and still is because she was really sick and still came to school. She ended up take a couple days off after a bit and there was a considerable difference in her health when she came back.

Yes of course you should take a break, don't be too harsh on yourself.

Better to take a couple of days of to recuperate, it is detrimental to study when you are extremely sick!

Are you putting in raw marks to the ATAR calculators? The marks you should enter are what you predict for your HSC marks, which are moderated based on raw marks, so you'll get a misleading estimate if you put in raw marks.

If most of your ranks are single digit, isn't your atar more likely to be in the late 80s early 90s?

Yeah, using those marks would give a misleading ATAR estimate.

Ya but like most important sub ( adv english) rank is appalling, plus i have two pretty badly scaling subjects.
So i feel that late 80s-early 90s isnt possible for me at this rate ;-;

Ugh took too much of a break after trials (I couldn't study because my mind was on what I got for the trials), now its so hard to get back into study mode

It took the two teachers 4 weeks to mark approximately 45 peoples trials...

They marked English extension 1 and 2 before the advanced papers, so thats why it took them long

Well they apparently waited for them to do their trials, and marked their papers/majors first, so they were initially delayed by 1 week, so it approximately took them 2 weeks to mark our papers

i feel like my jap teacher is gonna be worse cuz she takes like 2 months to mark like 15 people's speaking exams. Awesome teacher but slow marker

My maths teacher marks your paper on the day you finish. Say we did our test in the morning, by lunch time he'll have your marks and you can find out.
But i guess it's different for trials

Nah my maths teachers all have other jobs that requires more attention than their subjects. For example my ex 1 teacher i have never seen him kicking back... He's always working doing stuff for us or for charity or stuff like that...

My Jap teacher this year marks our assessments within a day, she's crazy.
