What are you required to bring to the HSC other than your writing materials?

Do you need your student ID or student number as well?

How do they stop people from sitting exams for others?

How many digits long is your student number?

Are the seats pre-assigned, or do you take random seats?

Hey Mr 100 Girls,

You need your BOS number as well as any writing materials, calculators etc which are allowed in the exam. These can be kept in a clear plastic sleeve as no pencil cases are allowed. Your BOS number is the 8 number starting with 2, but they will have a sheet. As for seating, just wait until the day and see what the coordinators say.

Pens, pencils, ruler, erasor, calculator (if permitted), extra pens, more exta pens.

Do you need your student ID or student number as well?
You need your student number. Though they normally give it to you in your first exam. I don't recall needing my student ID.

How do they stop people from sitting exams for others?
Common sense. You also need to sign something before and after every exam.

How many digits long is your student number?
Mine was 25852907. 8 digits in 2014.

Are the seats pre-assigned, or do you take random seats?
Mine were pre-assigned.

I'd bring your student ID just incase.

Last year they had our student id photos on one of the sheets that we had to sign of on, with our student number.

Your student number is your UAC id, without a 1 in front of it.

Seats are pre-assigned if you don't have special provisions.

I'm going to bring some ID as well, e.g. driver's license. Because you're right, if the teachers don't know you, they don't know it's actually you sitting the exam. I'm sitting it at a school I don't go to, so better be safe than sorry.

Also, does anyone know how the papers/seats are usually arranged? Is it alphabetical order?

Don't forget to bring yourself, and turn up in time. 30 minutes before the examinations are due to commence.

Looking back at it i had 5 blue pens die on me during my final HSC exam. I also had 2 die on me during english, 1 during general math and 2 during IPT.

Seriously guys. You can never have too many.
