The law is pretty clear... Do not serve intoxicated patrons... The fact that some people walk out of venues in a drunken stooper is quite telling...
yeah I have seen both cases where people are served alcohol beyond the point of being drunk (aka bos some meats) but some venues let them stay because either OLGR don't do checks there often and they think they can get away with it or because they don't want to lose a patron who is paying lots of $$$$What venues have you actually been to? I hardly see this at all.
Usually the ones who 'walk out of venues in a drunken stooper' are the ones who get kicked out...they are fine to begin with, their friends do rounds to buy them drinks then security sees they've had too much and kicks them out. As far as I'm concerned most venues in the city (at least the ones I've been to) are quite strict when it comes to RSA.
but yeah in general as soon as intoxication is identified by a security guard/marshal/bartender/other staff it gets an approval from a manager and then they are removed from the venue. If they are okay but get aggressive they also get removed because better now than getting them drunk and having people ready to fight so they are strict in that sense. Also tier 1/2 venues can't afford to lose their liquor licence so they remove them
