For my HSC I required a writer because of my horrifically bad handwriting that affected the markers ability to read the exams that I complete. So for university how do I take notes for maths related subjects with a computer?

I would suggest that contact disability support service at your University. They might be able to provide a note-taker/support for you due to your writing difficulties.

I could try that, but I do not have any "disability" that would make me eligible for support I think. I only got the writer for my HSC due to messy and unreadable handwriting. I could try to lean LaTeX in two weeks before trimester starts in feb. Do you think LaTeX is good for digital note taking for lectures, ect?

Inability to write & poor handwriting is unfortunately a modern day phenomenon. Ages ago, hardly anyone had handwriting problems. Our teachers were not as "well-qualified" as today's teachers - our primary school teachers had no degrees.

From my observation, once you have learnt it incorrectly (from Yr 5 or 6 onwards), it is extremely difficult, if not "impossible" to correct it. So the best time to get it right is when you are starting to doodle, write & draw (I suppose that is about Yr 5 or 6). Once you have not learnt to write it correctly, and your poor style is set in concrete, then it is almost irreversible.

I'm sorry to hear that you have this problem in the extreme.

LaTeX is waaay too inefficient to write notes. It’s used to make professional looking assignments and papers, not for notes.

Cujo10 has little choice, unless, somehow miraculously he can learn to write. I've tried to help quite a few individuals over the years with their handwriting but unfortunately the results are not very good.

So far for written notes i'm gonna use Google docs, but is there any software that I can take digital notes for mathematics at uni?

It depends in how long ago did I do it. After a couple of hours it is to hard to know what I have written down.
