no, TVET courses are a different thing that you can do through school (subjects like hospitality, construction, etc. are TVET), hers is through an external organisation which is training her, whereas TVET is held at school (in the case of my school, anyway). But yeah I honestly have no clue how any of the tafe-y stuff works, I've never really looked into it.
Huh, never heard of that external organisation, I guess it’s not a thing at my school. I don’t have any idea with the tafe stuff either, though I guess it’s a good option for people who don’t wanna go to uni.

yeah! and my friend is still eligible for an atar as well, so long as she doesn't pick up anymore tafe, which is super cool. I believe tafe is heavily subsidised if done through school as well......

Yeah, I remember my career adviser telling us about how because of school & government subsidies it’s a ridiculous amount cheaper than doing the tafe courses after school. It’s good that you can still get an ATAR with it, although that said I can’t imagine missing half your Wednesday every week (what the tafe kids at my school have to do) would be very helpful to achieving a good atar.
yeah it would definitely make things more difficult in that case. At my school, a senior with 12 units will typically get Wednesdays completely off (all their free periods are on Wednesday, so they get none during the other days of the week). The only classes we run on Wednesdays are extension classes, marine studies, and drama. Because I do 2 units of classes solely on Wednesdays, I get free periods on other days of the week (yay). So basically kids that do tafe aren't missing out on any of their classes.

Wow, that sounds pretty great. I envy the people at your school who get Wednesdays off, that sounds so nice.

Trust me top of my class in business is nowhere near as impressive as u think once you know the people who are in my class.

I can’t blame you for dropping economics even if you’re doing well, I feel like doing subjects that don’t feel like a chore will make your hsc year much more enjoyable and therefore making you more willing to study hard, so I feel like it’s the best play to drop subjects you dislike.
I can personally resonate with this - dropped economics despite a good rank and I do not regret it lol

I'm actually glad to have Wednesday classes, because I get a double free period every second day 🤩 I'm more productive studying alone at school than at home 🤠
Really? I can’t stand studying at school, I don’t even bother usually, I just get distracted too easily. Meanwhile at home I’m pulling 3 hour study sessions without batting an eye, I guess it just depends on the person 🤷

ive got my bio prelims in an hour so ill let you know afterwards. But what my teacher said what that the test will contain more questions from modules 1-3, with a 'mini' long response on mining and how it affects biodiversity from module 4.

For chem i reccomend remembering the main solubility rules, and gas laws.

I have mine tomorrow.... kinda stressed because we had to rush over a lot of content (multiple teacher changes, impact of natural disasters, etc.) From the past papers I've seen a lot of the questions tend to be mathematical.....

Just had my mx1.... honestly not sure how I went, I ran out of time though and was unable to attempt one question T^T. General consensus from the class was that it was a bit of a struggle all-round. Lots of trig, literally no calculus ( 😭 ).

ours didn't contain any perms and combs as we haven't learnt the content yet..... (my school was closed for 6 weeks due to natural disaster, so we were unable to do that part of the course yet, we'll be catching it up now)

i had my mx1 yesterday, and there were literally no trig questions (legit there was only one double angle formula mcq question). There were also two questions that had mistakes in them, and I thought i was going crazy, cause they're literally impossible to solve

so jealous, mine was literally all trig :( and then some polynomial stuff which was wayyyy more complex than any of the math in focus polynomials. We had barely any exponential growth/decay, a few inequalities, and literally no calculus. Also like 1 question involving graphing inverse and absolute value functions of polynomials.
