Hello, I'm applying for Sydney Boys High School for entry to year 10 and needed to know whether I would stand a chance and be able to be invited to do the test. I applied last year as well but got rejected for the test. I have listed my past 2 term reports and all my extracurricular activities, so could you please roughly judge whether I will get invited to do the test? Also for the people who have done the test and succeeded what should I prepare? Also when would I know if I got invited for the test or not, last year I got mine 31st of July. Blud you definetly have a fair shot at getting in, just make sure you do your fucking best on the edutest and then your all set lil bro.

Lil bro do some related VCE tests and some UCAT abstract reasoning, memorise a list of sophisticated words and their meaning and utilise it in the essay. If there's a booklet try finding a version of it online, or buy it if your really dedicated. Make a study plan and do a bit everyday. Trust.

Yes lil bro, you seem pretty well rounded and although you may have one or two B's and C's, its your dedication that shows what kind of person you are, and by the looks of it, you are dedicated.

yeh, last year when I applied tbh i had many Cs and Bs and maybe 2 As so I understood why i didnt even get invited for the test, but i grinded after that so hope i get in cuz they give 6+ interviews, do u know how many students apply and actually get invited to the test?

Man Im not too sure about that, it is very competitive entry though. Just grind and leave no room for mistakes. Maybe someone else may have an answer about that.

You've done what you can so far through your grades and extra and co-curriculars, the rest is up to them. Leave it in God's hands. Only after you will have your test which is once again on you to do good.

I believe HAST is basically the same, however I think it may be a bit easier than the Edutest. Use UCAT practice questions, a few writing prompts, reading comprehension sites, and make sure you know your math curriculum thoroughly. Preparing for Edutest should about prepare you for the HAST.

Yes, that might be the main difference. I'm not quite sure of the specifics but I know that HAST has mathematical and scientific reasoning, which contains a bit of logic, not directly science. Im not so sure about Edutest though.
