I'm not belittling you for a number, who am I to judge people for their academic achievement? I think it's deeply disrespectful to your peers who may not be prepared either but give an exam their best effort without resorting to cheating. Also approved exemptions and extensions on assessments are completely justifiable? You're not helping your peers by gaining an unfair advantage over them lol that's the dumbest shit I've ever heard
:confused2::confused2: when did i ever say that extensions and exemptions on exams are unjustifiable? i said I've never gotten an extension on an exam insinuating that I've sat every single exam blind therefore could have no "advantage" yet i dont wish for people to get a 0 on their hsc for wanting to know a single question from an exam worth 15% beforehand because its really not that deep. ive never cheated before contrary to what u said

I just think the hsc has made everyone so competitive all over an atar number, leading to people belittling others and shaming them which is something that can make us feel even worse during a stressful period. we shouldn't be getting cut over each other over something so silly designed to put us against each other, rather be kinder in our responses and help out people in other ways that don't give exam questions rather then calling them deeply disrespectful and cheaters because it feels awful for everyone  i realise i probably didn't relay that well in my messages but i wasn't really taking the thread too seriously when i first replied, i just felt bad for the dudes who were getting dunked on since id feel pretty shitty if someone was wishing bad karma upon me over this sorta stuff

ok I acknowledge that the 0 atar comment was excessive and that I made the assumption that by you tolerating it you've done it before

I agree that the HSC has made some people overly competitive but handing out the exam questions isn't the way to unify people. If it's designed to put us against each other then why are you furthering that by supporting the actions people who try to gain an unfair advantage? I think @AsuTeksu's reaction is an example of why that is the wrong way to go, they don't want their hard work undermined by someone looking for an easy way out.

Agreed and I'm sorry for assuming you were a cheater but for the other guy that's literally what they was trying to do and I was calling their actions deeply disrespectful.

hope everyones first day at school was swell. i sat my first english trials (paper 1) today, leading up to the exam it was really nervewracking, doesn't help that it was like 13 degrees this morning so my hand felt soooo cold but legit as soon as the 10 minutes reading time began i was totally locked in. managed to write the most bullshit ive ever written in my entire education career but it felt good walking out of the door that i was 1/6 done with my internal exams. my essay question was something like: "to what extent does george orwell convey desire as a fundamental human experience in 1984" ... and if you guys have read 1984 you would probs understand my feeling of "WTF" when i read that question lulul i was like... desire, where??? i ended up just writing about desire for change that culminates in false hope, desire for control by the party and a selfconscious desire for self-autonomy or something dumb idk all my vocabulary went out the window as soon as i started writing :p

keep up with your studies guys and do lots of practice papers and questions !!! although trials are super scary, it legit all washes away when you're in the exam and your brain just goes instant fight mode LOL
HEY DUDE DYK WHERE YOUR SCHOOL BOUGHT THE PAPER IM TRYNA FIGURE OUT COS THEYRE NOT GIVING OUR TRIAL PAPERS BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

?? idk where my school buys papers, im not even sure if they bought the english paper since i realised that the essay question was used in a previous exam but most of my subjects had papers written externally to be specific to the amount of work we had finished in the syllabus then the teachers would tailor the questions to make them align better with their predictions for the hsc so all our papers are unique to other schools + i did this exam in week one so as far as i know im getting my marks back next week since they are internally marked by our teachers

nah ur fair and made me reflect on my opinions since i dont take cssa papers which I've realised is probably a lot more different mentality & technicalities; i was moreso thinking of it in a sorta classmate way since in my year group/friend group if someone asks like we usually try and help as much as possible or you can come across as rude but this is online and other people probably see it differently. this is probably why i think i came across odd because i rlly wasn't taking the thread seriously. i just think the reactions to the dudes were unwarranted especially during such a sensitive period and rather then shaming for asking such questions (since honestly i dont think anybody had any negative intentions to undermine others albeit selfish) we should probs respond in more helpful/kind ways that don't involve outright giving exam questions nor wishing bad karma on them. anyways looking back i can see why my messages are frustrating since i come across dismissive and unserious lmao sorry :jump: lets all work hard and root for each other to do well regardless of circumstance or opinion
