is it bad if i have no quotes for one of the eliot poems? it genuinely stuffed me up in trials bc it ended up being the prescribed one with no extract, but like i dont have time to memorise any other quotes tbh

i’ve got quotes for 3 poems, but only using 2 poems… heh. if they specify a poem do they usually give you an extract?

I've seen some questions, where they specify a poem and one other poem without an extract.

E.g. To what extent do the poems you have studied present a view of existence that is ultimately bleak and futile. In your response, refer to The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock and one other poem.

yeah my question was like that too you had to refer to preludes and one other poem and literally preludes was the one i had nothing on. i swear i wanted to tear that paper up when i saw it

at least if you dont memorise more than that make sure you have something on magi as thats the poem that is the most different

yeah a teacher at my school mentioned its one of the better ones to use since it shows how eliot's poems change over time or something along those lines
i mean its only one page so there's only so much to remember which is good

just talk about how his poems change to react to his context and stuff romantic to postmodern

My predictions are:

Common mod (short answer)
2x 3 marker, 2x 4 marker, 1x 6 marker compare no image, very long texts with lots of reading

Common mod (essay)
Im HOPING for challenging assumptions but I reckon it will be the paradoxes or inconsistencies of human behaviour E.G 'How does your prescribed text examine the paradoxes of human behaviour something something in the human experience'

Mod A
Generic quote with to what extent does the latter composer reimagine the original (hopefully)

Mod B
Im hoping this is not the case but I really think we're going to get an extract/stimulus specific question u never know with mod B

Mod C
10/10 split imaginative OR discursive (they wouldn't be cruel enough to specify discursive would they???)
i mean they specified narratives in trials and i didnt even know. luckily i did narrative anyway

do you really think nesa cares about the wellbeing of the students??? think again, little pal.

also discursives are literally a part of the syllabus so just because the school didn't teach it doesn't mean that you are not supposed to know it - like my school literally did not go through what a reflection was, and there was no reflection in the trial that we did, hwoever, it is still a mandatory part of the coruse , so when I did my external hsc, I had to seek out advice from my friends in other schools and literally cram study as to what a reflection is.

i'd say that there is >90% chance that they specify discursive this year
that's true its just that its rarer for them to specify discursive over creative plus last years exam was easy so I wouldn't be surprised if every module had a curveball tbh... imagine a 20 marks specified discursive tho I would literally die
