show me the data for more likely to make it into big law. almost certainly flawed data
Not like you'd be able to understand, can't do any maths at your humanities uni
employer reputation is a factor on both of the rankings I sent and UNSW is higher on it, by the smallest margin, something around 2%.
I also did my own research which confirmed that the comparison was mostly negligible:
I googled "Australia big law" and wrote down the firms Dentons, Allen & Overy, & Clifford Chance LLP, which are the top 3 largest law firms in Australia by revenue. I then went on Linkedin, and searched these businesses. I then went to their people section, and sorted by Australia, Legal services. This shows you the number of people who work at the business and it shows the amount that went to each uni.
I identified that on average, UNSW had approximately a little under 20% less people employed at these firms than USYD. However, UNSW also has a tiny bit over 20% fewer law students than USYD (2625 vs 3300). Now of course, if you wanted to be favourable to UNSW you could also see that UNSW has a significantly higher international student population in Law and most of those individuals go back home after study, so UNSW is actually overrepresented, but this would be slightly negligible.
