Don't go to the SAU, they are in no way involved with the O-Camp and will not know what to do with your money!
If you are paying by Credit or Cheque you can go to the UPO and pay next week. If you have cash you need to come to the next enrolment and just pay your money at the Engineering...
Rob Jarman is a lecturer who takes Intro to Elec Eng (Done in first or second semester) he is part of a company APACE which deals with renewable energy (mostly hydro elec) so talk to him.
The new gym is much better than the old one. They are still building parts of it, however there is plently of machines, free weights, cardio and clases.
The gym is also very cheap. $80 for 3 months (compared to $300-400/6 months that some inner-city gyms charge)
We have the 3 different days (+ late enrolment day) because there are so many Engineering Students, we can't fit them all in the computer lab at one time.
You do 2 internships (6 months each) over the length of you degree. It is up to you to find the job. The Engineering Faculty does have a service called i2MS which allows companies to post jobs and for you to apply to them, however there are more students than job offers so you will have to do...
It's not as bad as that. The camp has been running for 14 years now and most of the stuff is interesting and relevant to first years.
All of the helpers are volunteers (no pay) from 2nd to 5th year, they all once went on a camp so know what it's like for the new students.
You'll be sent a letter in the next 2 weeks, it will tell you which camp you are going on. It's allocated randomly. We can change it due to work etc.
I was 17 when I went on camp, wasn't that bad.

Last Camp
How did you find it? This year has a lot of changes to the tuesday entertainment (Alcohol will be served to over 18's). Minor changes to the food (new supplier... so tastier meat/salads).
Here's hoping for sun all week long

You can do transfers to different majors after your first year. Official word is you need a credit average, but usually it just requires you to know the head of your program and ask them to sign off on the transfer.
Electrical, Software and CSE are very similar for the first 1.5 years.

O-Camp
The camp is what you make it. Some of my best friends at uni are still the ones I met during o-camp.
For all of you starting Engineering, you will be receiving a letter in the mail in the next 2 week giving you all the information you need (including which camp you are going on)...
