    Taking a Japanese language unit?

the website is a bit confusing, but you apparently need to already have completed or be simultaneously studying jpn 110 to be able to do 117. 110 will have speaking elements that would be similar to the content of 117 that you will do in the practical i assume. 110 is an introductory course...

2nd year subject in 1st year?

you just need to contact whoever you need to contact - unit convener or the head of that particular department - to discuss your personal situation, relevant knowledge, etc. if there are no pre-requisites, you might be alright. i'm doing second year subjects in my first year - japanese. i spoke...

So how many days do you spend in uni per week?

4 days. on thursday i only have one one hour tutorial in the afternoon, which is frustrating since i have to travel between and hour and a half to two hours away. i tried my best to minimize the number of days i'm at university and the spaces between classes so i'm not hanging about all day...

    Sushi/Sushimi

actually, sushi refers to only vinegered rice and nothing else. sashimi is raw fish, and nothin else. seaweed has nothing to do with sushi. raw fish on top of sushi rice is still sushi, but it's called 'nigiri sushi'.

that isn't a lot of food to eat for breakfast. but to the OP: low GI cereal with milk, juice and or a piece of fruit; low GI, or wholegrain, bread spread with generally whatever takes your fancy with a piece of fruit and or yoghurt, or instead of a yoghurt a cup of milk; breakfast omlette...

    Japanese Beginners

well, that's what i figured. so i thought it best to stay on the limited safe side. i don't think i remember reading on the papers "if you want to write more that the amount we have told you to write..." so, oh well. i'm happy with the exam.

    Japanese Beginners

i finished 40 minutes early! i think it went really well, although i suppose i shall have to wait to see how well when i get my marks. i think it was all rather easy, although i really do wish that there was more space - a greater ji limit - in the written response section, because it's really...
