re: HSC Chemistry Marathon Archive All amphiprotic substances are amphoteric, but not all amphoteric substances are amphiprotic. For example, Al2O3 is amphoteric but it doesn't contain a hydrogen atom to be classified as amphiprotic Proton transfer reactions are known as neutralisation...

Re: 2015 HSC Economics Marathon Well not really, if the question asked about exchange rates, you would need to talk about that, but it will be meaningless in the context of stimulating economic growth.

HSC 2015 MX2 Permutations & Combinations Marathon (archive)

Re: 2015 permutation X2 marathon To form the groups of course, but when you put them into distinct rooms, having 4 people in room A and having 4 people in room B, and having them switch are two different arrangements, as 4 that were initially in A are now in B, and vice versa.

Re: 2015 permutation X2 marathon No the reason why I divided by 2! for that question was because I assumed the tables were identical. However in this question, the rooms are distinct, so you don't divide.

Well they obviously would round it. So with the scenario with Bob and John, their internal marks will be 98, because the average would be 97.5. However when there are larger mark gaps, that's when it matters. I know that BOSTES said first internal person gets the highest external mark, there is...

No apparently its the average. That's what I initially thought, but according to sources, they take the average. Im not sure if its the average of the top 2 highest marks, or the average of the two people who are tieing, but it isn't as simple as both of them taking the highest external mark.

From what I hear, 4U maths are Ruse is very competitive (apparently their cohort average is 90+), so there would undoubtedly be several people on the same whole and maybe decimal mark, so what happens there then. Apparently there is around 100 students in 4u at Ruse, and they are all...
