But thats because Coles has cash out occur after selecting your account, ie. swipe card, select account then operator asks if you'd like cashout/eft screen asks for cashout thats probs why lots of customers swipe almost instantly before answering whether they'd like cash out, COLES!

ITs different in every state, although Woolworths/Safeway policy is probably pretty uniform in terms of the U/25 rule If its a family members ID, its pretty difficult for you to handle, I'd advise getting a supervisor seeing as you're new. However, in Safeway (Vic) the Tobacco Act 1987...

either that, or companies could actually commit themselves to decent service and spend more on employing front line staff instead of an excessive number of managers (who design hopeless IT upgrades....yes im kind of on edge) edit: personally im not too unhappy about how much i get paid, tho i...

i think (and hope!) they care more about just bargaining power. The SDA has a policy of eliminating junior rates of pay, so that everyone is one wage, which i completely agree with- the current system is discriminatory and if there was one rate it would mean employees were rostered based on...

Ahhh thats what it is. I don;t really know how to do manual EFT either- never been shown. I'm pretty sure our 2IC wouldn't know either. So you do manual EFT, type in the card number? THen use that old manual machine on the slips...and then manual export??? I guess I've been doing it wrong...

THANK GOD for that! So I can stop calling up the help desk every shift to complain! THe other night we couldn't get one of the draws out for close because the screen wouldn't respond, so we had to use the manual key and that didn't work! Finally after about an hour (seriously) and just before...

Your CSM sounds like pure evil! The SDA has a summary sheet about the Safeway agreement. RE: Public holidays (which includes New Year's Day) it says: "Nobody, including casuals, can be required to work on these public holidays. If you choose to work on a publicholiday, you must be paid at...

thats for a 15 year old, btw (edit: 16 & under) the sda sends out a bulletin every wage increase and it lists all current rates Grade 4= SHop Assistant Grade 5= Shop Assistant first four months, cleaner, trolley collector thats SAFEWAY- so VIC (as at 1 Jan '09- current rates) that said...

ah thanks for explaining it properly, that makes sense. i was thinking what happens if i bring in something i bought from somewhere else that we also sell.....and i cant get a checkseal at the service desk? At least they'll have stickers, although I would've thought they'd get rid of the old...

yep, PAs on all the checkouts, no bells- so service 10 for supervisor, service 20/40 longlife/perishables etc. from the register- having to get the SVR to do it would be annoying! plus, we have phones on all the registers so when im feeling lazy i just use them to tell the operator to go on...

not that there was a problem with manual reduction previously, don't they trust us?? I can understand it would be really annoying in deli having to get the manager to print an RTC for every time its needed

    The Woolworths Thread

OMG! We just got the upgrade today....its THE most annoying thing since Kyle Sandilands!! OUr idiot buffoon of a produce manager still uses the manual RTC stickers on everything, so every 10 seconds we get a service 10 because RTC's only in SVR menu now! PLus deli uses the manual stickers on...

so how does it work having liquor (ie wine in aisle 1, beer aisle 4-6) in the actual store??? Do all checkout staff need RSA or something?
  17. D

    The Woolworths Thread

We don't have an aisle 13, it goes straight from aisle 12 to aisle 14....guess the refurb ppl at the time were a bit superstitious.

    The Woolworths Thread

i know you used to be able to subtotal it like that, but when we got an upgrade one time, that option ceased- it came as subtotal on the screen, but not on the printed receipt. it also automatically printed Qty's even if they werent entered as Qty's. im just saying that woolworths should probs...

but how can employees possibly be expected to enfore that? plus they'd never get 'caught' or penalised for it. WHat if someone is paying something for a business and something for themselves? What is someone needs a separate receipt for some things? What is someone is buying some things for...

1: at my training (induction) they said its OK to use it for family members, as long as YOU are present, ie. you hand it to the cashier (though if you get part time just get a second card online) 2: Safeway and Victoria is OK with U/18s selling smokes, as long as u follow the U/25 ID policy 3...
