    Boolean algebra question

this area is for Computer Science too and Boolean algebra is used alot in computer science. Look to the appendix section of any algorithm analysis/design or theory of computation book and there should be a section on boolean algebra. Also many early computer science courses have a section...

    Comp Sci and IT

A good programmer? Computer Science or Software Engineering. Although it is possible to learn the syntax of programming languages by yourself or at a tafe course or something, computer science is essentially the chemistry of information, and it will make you exponentially better. Eg more...

    Mac or PC for engineering?

I can't imagine it would make much of a difference, unless you needed to use software that only runs on windows.

    Linear algerbra

Matricies were in Methods... Have a look in your old methods book if you don't remember lol. Markov chains anyone? Granted only a basic introduction compared to what will be learnt in Linear Algebra

Should Psychology be considered a Science

Well it is a Science, sure it could be an often incorrectly taught Science but its still a Science.

    Microsoft word help

erm... this may be the wrong place for this. try here: HelpOnThe.Net: Tech Support Guy - Free help for Windows XP, Vista, 98, and more! Someone posting stuff about general computer skills in an IT/computer science forum makes me want to break into a rant about the massive difference between...

    Engineering/Dentistry

If you really really enjoy it, are good at it, and really want to do it, its not such an outlandish prediction. Also I doubt it would be 7 years unless you were doing a double degree. Granted, you could probably make better predictions in a year, once you see how well you like uni life, and...

    School Fees

I'm not quite sure how much mine was, around $20,000 in year 12 I think, not including uniforms, camps, music lessons, books ect... Uni is so much cheaper lol.
  9. B

    Majoring in Psychology?

It probably depends on the University. You can major in Psychology with a BA or a BSc at Melbourne Uni. You need to do honours in order to be fully registered as a psychologist though I think. I'm not sure about other unis.

    Engineering/Dentistry

and yet... the suicide rate... I thought engineers were paid fairly well. over 6 figures for more experience senior roles and project leaders ect. Theres definently room for career advancement too. If you do masters and get some rare skills you could probably make more. I understand your...

    Change the nudity laws!

bwahahahaha... entertaining thread...:haha: I wouldn't have a problem with that, as the OP said its a victimless crime But people who go naked need to understand and even expect unwanted attention. They need to expect that people will look, and if they have a problem with this then they...

    Maths programming

or even psuedocode But you're right, basic and intermediate programming skills are taught only in the first year or so, after that (assuming you are doing computer science) any programming you do will be applying computer science concepts, such as theory of computation or algorithms and data...

Results on the 9th and 10th!!!

happy with my results: 92 for Informatics and Calculus, 80 for Psychology and 79 for Philosophy so close to 4 H1s though... yeah they release all your results at the same day, if you do a double degree for example it all comes out on the later day. That happened to me too, I did...

Earrings are stupid and they look ugly

Its your own body, you can do with it what you want as long as it doesn't harm anyone else. That being said I personally do not understand why someone would actually want an earring, its very strange and makes no sense to me, I guess its got to do with conformity, if it weren't so common...

    Maths complimenting Comp Sci units

    I would choose 2211 and 2200

    Best course for programming?

Yep, you can pick up basic programming skills by yourself in a few weeks if you want to, or even in a tafe course or 4 week course. Software Engineering includes things about project management, working in teams, software testing and so on... Computer Science on the other hand is much much more...

should i buy a laptop for uni ?

You don't really need one, you can write notes and work with a pen and paper. A computer is most important if you are doing a subject that requires written assignments, and if you have a student email that the staff use to send stuff to everyone... If you don't have a computer at all then you...

Should conscription be re-introduced in 21st Century Australia?

If we gave up freedom to defend our nation, it has already been destroyed. In the words of Benjamin Franklin: "Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both." Not that this is the only problem with the OP... Its not even the most...

Should conscription be re-introduced in 21st Century Australia?

I can't believe I am reading this... There are so... soo many things wrong with this I don't know where to start.

    Acceleration, Velocity and Displacement graphs

velocity is the derivative of displacement, so just find the derivative of the displacement function you are given and graph that. If you are only given the function on a graph, then just imagine what the gradient of the tangent will be at each point, ie the turning points of the displacement...
