    Best course for programming?

whew!! That would be one hardcore game developer... You're probably right though, computer graphics uses alot of maths, and on top of that, most areas of computer science use maths, and some such as Algorithm analysis and Theory of computation use alot of maths... Graph theory, Combinatorics...

    Linear algerbra

At Melbourne Uni I don't think you theoretically have to, but you need both of them for second year subjects, and most people do calc 2 first. If you did calc 1 first and you want to do second year subjects, then you do calc 2 second semester and then linear algebra either in the summer...

    Linear algerbra

Its harder then its name sounds, but its still pretty easy. Just have a look through the text book. Basically Vectors and Matricies, but in a lot more detail then at school. Linear algebra - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    Maths programming

You should have done informatics if you are finding programming hard :P I suppose you need first year maths, physics and engineering for an engineering major though... So much for choice lol.

    Prospective jobs in science/engineering?

I'm doing science at melbourne too and I've noticed that lots of people are using it as a pathway to postgrad medicine... Good luck to them, thats going to be fairly tough, possible but they will need to do very well. Especially if they are only doing science because they couldn't get into...

Mid-year entry (arts) at Melbourne Uni?

I personally know someone who is dropping out of Melbourne Arts, and the only arts students I know are from my philosophy bredth subject, so... I would expect more then 10.

How long does it take you to get to uni?

Best case scenario: 10 minute walk to Kooyong train station, 15 minutes on the train to melbourne central. 5 minutes on a tram. So the best it could be is 30 minutes but it usually takes around 40-50

The hell of group work at uni

I don't particually like group work. In IT, 3 of us had to make a movie recommender system. Luckily my group was fairly good and wanted to do well, and we did do very well, but one of the guys did barely a thing, rarely turned up and still did well. Even though we did well its still a hassle...

    Scariest Game u've ever played?

FEAR was pretty scary. Play it with the lights off at night time when everyones in bed, with the volume up

    Maths programming

I started Uni with barely any experience in programming, some experience in programming our calculators in year 10, but apart from that, nothing. There will definently be introductionary programming classes for people who haven't programmed before at any uni. At Melbourne uni, Informatics 1...

    Comp Sci and IT

that really depends on the type of course. A Bachelor of Science with a major in Computer Science, or a Bachelor of Computer Science is completely different from a course in IT Computer Science actually has little to do with computers, its much more theoretical. A good quote I heard once...
