The people who top the state dont get over 116 (or very rarley)... so i think do the paper in the correct order and try to maximise marks for qns 1-4 (which should =100%) and then qns 5 and 6 which should be close to 100%. Of course then u tackle the toughies... good fun...

In HSC if there's another way 2 do the quetion... they'll usually cover their bases and say "otherwise"...

The identity: tan^2x+1=sec^2x is vital for projectile questions... Id know them very well for the exam...

I can assure you, however, that no first principals will be examined in 2 unit yet alone 3 unit...

With the original quesiton I wouldnt advise just quoting the cauchy inequality... Id prove the a+b+c>3rt(abc) then sub a=whatever u need... etc I say this becasue I remember seeing this very question in a trial paper somewhere and the solns explicity said that u cant just quote something like...

Arnold and patel should just about cover it... the only other one id suggest mabye is terry lee or coroneous. Lee has great complex no's, especially argand diagram problems and coroneous has a quality cover of the course although I don't know if you can buy the book these days.. hope that helps!:)

For these questions dude just let z=x+iy then rearrange everything... then just take the condition... ie for this question Re(z)=0... it'll come out beautifully...

Wtf u dont leave out the course that is highly stupid, why give up marks???... as for the statement that the HSC exam is unfinishable, I think that's crap; if your talented the HSC should be 110+...

My reasoning for harder 3unit being the most difficult is because, in comparison to the other topics, there is much more variety for difficult questions...
