I got 96 course mark last year and I estimated mine to be about 75/84 at the very least... so 98 i would be thinking 76+

    Timing in the MX2 exam

I really hate going back to check work...makes the rest of the exam much more stressful if u cant get something out. Soultion: get everything out before question 8. Lol

    Complex inequalities

Chemistry like you to use pencils for drawing experiment diagrams. But yeah...for maths I just use the one coloured pen. But no-one has answered my question? Do u keep the axis dotted...obviously when u draw y=x^2 u keep them shaded because there is no region, but when they specify a region, I...

    Top Mark

Can anyone dig up what the mark was last year?

    Complex inequalities

When they get u 2 graph inequalities, do u guyz make the axis dotted...I like to do this because technically if its outside the inequality the axis shoudnt be filled, but some books, like my HSC one with answers in it, stil keeps the lines filled in. What do u rekon?

    Top Mark

The guy that topped the state in 2003 was taught by my teacher...he swears he lost about 14 marks...so low hundreds looks about right. As for ex 1 topping the state, last year I think i estimated about 74/84, but u can never be sure. If u guyz have marks for 2000 that would be great too, seeing...

    Timing in the MX2 exam

I'd be worried only a couple of weeks out...it's not in the syllabus but can make a lot of complex work easier if u know how

    Top Mark

Is there somewhere u can find out the top mark in the state for each year...would be interesting to know for practise. Or if there is anyone out there who has the marks from 95+ could u post them. Thanks

    Timing in the MX2 exam

2000: 105/120 (2hrs 56mins) if u want exact figures. But u can never be sure because the book I use doesnt give marking scale for every part... Edit: sorry for this being completely off the topic but I dont come here much anymore, on account of latin eating hours away (scaling better be worth it!)

    Timing in the MX2 exam

I've done the exact same thing and I'd have to agree with those marks - 2000 was bitchy... as for the papers from 95-99 they are relatively ezy... And id have to say for 100/120 ur looking at about 96/97, considering top of the state gets about 110-114...

    Spare time...

This question is directed to past HSC candidates...especially those who have gotten over 98... what is an ideal amount of time to leave for checking the paper over... I've done 95-2000 HSC's and I finish with about 20 mins 2 spare...thnx:)

?/120 is good for an 80+?

Hey I know the scaling is good aight but Ex 2 is worthless unless u get 97+.... [in my opinion] :)

    Exam Strategy

IM confused... when exactly did u top the state turtle... last year??? Edit: can't be last year cauz UNSW medicine II...lol... So wat year was it?? 2002?
  19. justchillin

?/120 is good for an 80+?

My opinion: if you don't get 97+ for the HSC course mark (ie ranked top 3 and raw mark >105) then you'd be better off with a lower level of maths. People always say how well Ex 2 contributes to your uai but that is only in the really top marks... when ur talking about 50/120... you'd be better...
