Have you ever lied to your partner?

White lies, yes. Such as "I'm going to the loo, I'll see you back here in 5 mins" as opposed to "I'm going to go and buy that book you were just looking at for your chrissie present, I'll see you back here in 5 mins"

What is the best trilogy of books or series?

Re: What is the best trilogy of books or serise? No, no, not at all. :D What is known as the Gormenghast trilogy by Mervyn Peake is fantastic. This one goes in my top 5 sci-fi/fantasy series' list.

I wear glasses, as does my partner, and we just take them off. They can get caught otherwise.

Is Music Extension HARD HARD! ???

Wow, your teacher is an ass. Personally, I don't think it's up to the school to set that sort of requirement, not to mention completely unfair.

The HSC Music 2007 Chatter Thread

Excuse me, but that's absolute bullshit as far as singers are concerned. (I can't speak for wind or brass because I don't play either) I did a 6 piece program and I very rarely practiced for more than half an hour at a time. I treated my HSC performance a little like a recital; A mixed program...

Is Music Extension HARD HARD! ???

Music extension was the easiest subject I did. :D I did performance: It's 3 pieces, one of which has to be an ensemble piece. But it's great because you don't have to select pieces to fit into a certain topic.

    What are you currently Reading?

Ooh, it's so much fun to do that. It's also really good when you don't really want to (or have the brain capacity to do so...) focus on something. I went through all my Tamora Pierce books during a stage like that. :D Currently reading 'Notes from Underground' by Fyodor Dostoyevsky.

    Book Characters

I guess I'm kind of like Merelan from Anne McCaffrey's The MasterHarper of Pern. If I could be any character, it'd either be her or Killashandra, fron The Crystal Singer trilogy, again by Anne McC.

    Music notes

Music... Year 10... I think I remember that... I know, we played miniature cricket with a ping-pong ball and a drumstick! :D Did you check in the resource section? I know I have nothing that could be of any use.

    Dune

I first read Dune about 4 years ago, and enjoyed it. Ditto to that. Brian should just have left it alone. Dune was fine as it was. And for anyone that has read Robert Jordan's The Wheel of Time: Do you see a few similarities - Aes Sedai = Bene Gesserit Aiel = Fremen And such?

    HSC Performance - Singers

If you're going to do something in a language other than English you have to be able to do the language properly. Not just a half-arsed attempt at learning some words from listening to a recording, which I know is how some people learn their pieces. And you need to know what the lyrics mean. You...

    The Literary Acquisition Thread
