UAC Main Round Offers NOW Out (Discussion Thread)!

I really hate that line. People who push it don't deserve to be part of this country if you're going to abuse the system like that. Imagine if all the great reformers of the past (Martin Luther King Jr, for example) had just "loved or left" their homes. This world would never make any progress...

    preliminary offers?

I rang UAC about 15 mins before the main round offers came out, being optimistic. To my total shock, it told me I had a preliminary offer to do arts/law at ANU...my UAI was a fair bit higher than the cut-off so that would explain it, but I never got a letter offering me a spot in the prelim...

I had an overwhelming urge to do that too...but townie beat me to it. I still have the warm'n'fuzzies. Ah, what the hell, a round of reps on me. :)

    f*ckers didn't let me in

Sorry to hear it. I know they made a note in the UAC guide that law applicants below the cut off should send a letter outlining their english proficiency, so depending on your degree you might still have a chance. If it's a science one for example, have you got good science marks that you could...

    Law '05

I just rang B&G to check, they're releasing offers tomorrow by e-mail. Not sure about the others, but I'd say all within the next couple of days.

why do you guys diss arts degrees

People who CAN do something which is not covered by its own degree do arts degrees. You can't do a Bachelor of History, for example. People who have specific aims that aren't covered by their own degrees do an arts degree and major in their area of interest.

why do you guys diss arts degrees

"All" you need to do? Do you have any idea how challenging most of those subjects are? Ancient scales down, modern doesn't scale that well. English Ext 2 only scales well if you get a whopper of a mark, and the only reason that is so common is because the majority of students who choose this...

Calling all dancers! Are you keeping it up at uni?

I was sometimes during year 12, but I doubt any studio in Canberra is going to hire a rookie teacher without any teaching qualifications. I was only teaching in my own studio.

Calling all dancers! Are you keeping it up at uni?

Ignorance. :) I have absolutely no idea about uni workload, so I'm being optimistic in the extreme. Although, I was doing 8 classes a week during year 11, so surely I could fit in a couple during uni?

    Roll Call

I'll hopefully end up at B&G.

Calling all dancers! Are you keeping it up at uni?

Wow, that sounds great! I'm hoping to get a job at Bloch (I'm working at the local ballet shop now so I'll have some experience) so that I can pay my way through another year of ballet. Not looking forward to having to foot all the ballet bills myself, all the gear and classes really add up and...

Calling all dancers! Are you keeping it up at uni?

Me too :) Endless party tricks...the number of times I've been told to do the splits on the kitchen floor just to prove I can....
  19. G

Calling all dancers! Are you keeping it up at uni?

I've been doing ballet for 13 years and there's no way I could give it up now, but I have to move to Canberra for uni which means changing studios...anyone else going to keep dancing through uni?

    Recognising BoSers

From the looks of things, it will probably be more a matter of trying to spot the 05 ANU lawyers who AREN'T bos-ers.
