wow like not many people care about ancient history

Yeah ours do that as well...they have to in case someone has a misprinted book and doesn't get all the questions. I never know whether it's ok to just look at my questions or if I should save it for the reading time and just check I have every page like I'm supposed to do...

wow like not many people care about ancient history

This was my second biggest stress, after modern....extension hist tomorrow, but I'm giving myself a rest before I hit the books again.

The 2004 HSC - Ancient History Paper

What question did you do for NK Egypt? I did the significance of the warrior pharaoh image, I wanted to do the political significance of building prgrammes but the good questions for my additional historical period were in that section so I couldn't.

The 2004 HSC - Ancient History Paper

I couldn't quite remember quotes (major cram session last night, no time for memorising sources) so I mostly paraphrased, although I did have 1 or 2 quotes in most questions. For some of them I couldn't remember who said what so I pretty much just dropped names in and hoped I was right! "Bury...

wow like not many people care about ancient history

lol what a good idea! Our supervisors were so confused with the whole 473 booklets and twice that many questions thing....

How do you think you went?

Oh yeah my hand was killing me after trying to cram in all that pelop war stuff....

    Spartan Society

For military elite I just basically gave them the definition of a spartiate. I loved the priveleges of kings though, we did that exact question for one of our assessments!

How do you think you went?

Seems like most people are pretty happy with it, where do you think your mark will be hovering around?
  10. G

    Spartan Society

To everyone who did Spartan society to the Battle of Leuctra, how did you find it? I was pretty happy with it, nowehere near as hard as some of the trials I've seen floating around, like the Independant and the CSSA. I wrote a fair bit (much of which was waffling, but hey, hopefully the marks...

The 2004 HSC - Ancient History Paper

Hatshepsut New Kindom Egypt to Thutmose IV The Greek World 446-399 BC Spartan society Not bad at all, except for the fact that I ran out of time. My conclusion for NK Egypt was shocking, as were all the last points I made...so rushed. Hatshepsut wasn't bad, although I've never really...

    Question about Average Mark

I've averaged high 80s to 90s, I got 90 in my trial. Having said that, we hadn't done our society at the time of the trial and that section is going to bring me down sooooo badly.

    memoriae damnatio

I think it's damnatio memoriai not the other way round...yeah you're right it refers to the destruction of the memory of an Egyptian person, in the case of this historical period, Hatshepsut. The Egyptians believed that in order to live on in the afterlife, their memory had to be preserved on...

    ArtXpress Selection pool

Yeah our school does a yr 12 exhibition every year...but stupidly it's put on BEFORE they're marked. My work was a series of plaster hanging sculptures and they got exhibited in a spot where people had to walk around them and kept knocking their heads on them. I was biting my nails the whole...

    Module B - Elective 2: Postmodernism (Essay)

No, not really...I think actual postmodernism itself isn't what's pretentious, it's just the people like Swain from DWM that make it that way. I think pomo theory in it's purest form is really fascinating and relevant. I liked FLW??? I thought it was really clever and funny, I didn't find the...

    Personality Studies

Oh you poor thing...hadn't you gone through past papers though? For all the people who did Russia and Germany, what was the period of time you had to write about for your personality? I did Sun Yixian (China) and we only had about 30 years of his life to look at cos he died half way through...

    CHINA - a or b?

Which question did you choose? I did the impact of foreign support...I think both the questions were pretty good, although I steered away from May 4 because I wasn't sure I'd be able to drag it out for a 20 mark essay. My only prob was that I had to fudge the civil war bit cos I never actually...

    You Assessment Marks?

Somewhere in the 90s...how come schools aren't allowed to give them to you?

    WWI Source D

Hmm..well every sources is useful for something. I emphasised that while it was only one woman's view, and thus not useful for studying the peace process in general, it provided a reliable and useful for source for demonstrating: -the views of one (albeit minority) group -the differing needs...

    Core: WW1

Yeah but usually it's not just a matter of directly quoting from the source for EVERY question. The fact that they were almost all 1 markers makes it far easier than the already-esay ww1 section from past years, where at least SOME degree of analysis was needed to get 2 or 3 marks. With this...
