4u maths text books: which to buy??

Hmmm...maybe we should ask an administrator. I don't know. What I do know is, most of them are on exams at the moment, so I would wait until after then. until then - direct all your questions at BlackJack. You may find he is a better substitute than worked answers, even. :p :p

workload - how heavy is the workload?

I did exactly the same as you DC10, except I did Frontline. I enjoyed my texts; my favourites were Emma and Lear. I won't mention what I thought of Clueless or the actual course though. :) Workload depends on whether or not you're diligent. People got away with writing no essays this year...

    I removed "Spam"

Yeah, what a great idea. *pictures the countless "I hate spam!" posts* :p

    One on one tutors?

I am not a 'tutorer', nor have I ever been tutored. But I'll be glad to help with either maths or english. although I agree with the above - good help can always be obtained on this forum.

    Good Luck Hsc 2003

Yeah, I agree, the HSC is too overrated. Remember to have fun in there somewhere too. Best of luck. :)

    a question

Every time I post in a new thread, I get emails when there are new posts in the thread, and the emails claim I have subscribed to it. I've only in reality subscribed to two threads, but I get about a squillion emails each day. Is it possible to stop this from happening?

I am leaving no legancy in school

yes, I wouldn't miss it because it's the last time we're all together. I used to be scared of freedom. I'm not anymore, thank goodness. It'll be a relief to finally get out of that place and do soemthing else....feels like I've been trapped in a time capsule watching everyone else make...

I am leaving no legancy in school

lol, our white gloves look silly! We have to wear them because every year they bring in a special guest who has to shake the hands of all the prizewinners (there are easily over 150 people) and, being a private school and having to maintain a snobbish image, they make us wear them so that the...

Felling the fear, the truth, doubt

yeah, from people I know who have tried ozseek, it's pretty dodgy. But remember that last year's year 12 didn't have the free service on this site, so it would have been used a lot more then. I say meh - they're just bitter that lazseeker is better, and free.

    how important??

your school assessments are altogether '50 percent' of your final HSC mark. the HSC marks for your ten best units are more or less used to calculate your UAI so that would make school assessments important.

Felling the fear, the truth, doubt

go Rosie. :) Perhaps these few weeks are only a false vacuum; the short period of time in which we let our hair down, before we're all doomed to fail the HSC. But I can't believe that. :D For those of you who said you believe in karma: do you think that your actions between the final HSC...

What do u hate about the BOS?

so true. it's been said so much it's become a cliche, it's a wonder so many people still don't realise how many ways there are to get to the place you want, if you have the willpower and the dedication.
  15. Weisy

What do u hate about the BOS?

yeah, tell me about it. :p zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz too many formals...

What do u hate about the BOS?

Most people on this forum aren't bitter and twisted, and the HSC hasn't consumed us, not by a long mile! :p. I know exactly how you feel at the moment, because a year ago, I felt exactly the same way. You're determined to do everything right, blitz all your exams, study hard, etc. Maybe what...

    chem

Yeah, I enjoyed physics in year 11 much more than chemistry. I dropped physics because I didn't want to go 6 units of science, and chem was assumed knowledge for more uni courses, and at that time I didn't know what I wanted to do.

    chem 2002 - with a poll!

of course physics is better! naturally I would think so, having dropped it at the end of year 11 to do chem.

English syllabuses, new and old - what're your thoughts?

Extension I was loads of fun. It was just good to study one area in depth over a whole year, instead of a few texts very flimsily. The different areas meant that you could choose what area you wanted to focus on. Liking what you study naturally makes actively seek knowledge and understanding...
